“Music is what defines us”. With this one sentence Sam Spade has gone from strength to strength. First picking up the headphones in 2001, Sam Spade has never looked back on his career, gaining a bigger and bigger following because of his vibrant energy and astounding track selection behind the decks. The passion all first started back in the 90’s when he used to frequent some of Sydney’s original Trance clubs such as Sublime @ Pitt Street and the box. Hearing his favourite dj’s playing the likes of Cosmic gate and Scot Project and just seeing the emotion and joy these songs were bringing to the people on the dance floor. In a long and winding road full of up’s and downs, Sam played his first set at the now finished “wanted @ the Pavilion” and even though he played to an extremely small crowd, he still knew that dj’ing was what he wanted to do. Spade started entering a few dj competitions to see how he would fair up with the rest of the up n coming dj’s in Sydney, and in 2008 he hit the jackpot winning Australias most prestigious dj competition. “The Transmission Magic city comp” giving him the right to play the closing set at Australias largest dance event “Transmission”. Following his victory, Sam was given residency at Australias Biggest Superclub, “Sublime @ home” playing to up to 2500 wild punters on a monthly rotation. This was then followed by to date, the biggest achievement of his career, been signed to one of Americas Biggest and Newest Management agency’s, JAG EVENTS and been invited to play his banging hardstyle to an extremely up for it American crowd at the Kandy Festival in Los Angeles. Sam plays everything from Trance to Hardstyle, but the reason why Sam is becoming more and more in demand is because of his ability to read the crowd and having them dancing for his whole set. He’s not afraid of mixing up his genres, and be it playing first or last in the night, Sam will play to that time, either as a supporting act or as a headlining act. 2010 is already looking at been a massive year with tours of the U.S, Germany, The Netherlands, Brasil, and Vietnam in the pipeline, plus an incredibly hectic interstate and local tour schedule. Having played at parties alongside some of the worlds biggest dj's such as Joop, Technoboy, JTB n Chuck-e, Scot Project, Yoji Biomehanika, Public Domain, Kamui and Showtek, this guy knows how to party.
