2006: Straight from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, New York... NSP celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Much Finesse. Led by hip-hop's ORIGINAL D.J. Ace (aka the African Christian Educator), Ace officially returns to the hip-hop scene after an 11-year absence.
2006 highlights the 1995 "All Hyped Up" Album, bringing the "Brooklyn Legend" to with mic, filled with teaching, streetbeats, lyricism, and "true hip hop!"
THE STORY!
Originating in winter, 1983, Much Finesse began as a rap/breakdance team, eventually evolving into a hip hip/r&b group of inovating rappers, designed to educate and entertain the youth of Brooklyn, NY. Led by founder and lead d.j./rapper, D.J. Ace, the group released several singles by the mid 1990's. however, due to illness, Ace disbanded the group and left the hip hop game with most of his work unfinished.
As the CEO/Manager of N>S>P> Youth, Inc. (Non-Stop Production), Ace had spent the last 20+ years working with kids throughout the city, through the performing arts in film, stage and other projects.
Recently, Ace has returned to spinning records for the kids at special NSP events, and concerts, motivating him now to complete what was left behind. Though considered an old-school artist, Ace still follows hip hop, currently managing several artists, and working as a photographer and educator. With a future hip hop book in the works, D.J. Ace now returns to the hip hop scene, just to share some of his accomplished music, and looks to complete several lost tracks from the All Hyped Up project.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
HERE'S A FLASHBACK... ONE OF MY FIRST MUSIC VIDEOS. HMMmmm! Can you spot me?
The following is an excerpt from my book, "HIP HOP HISTORY: The Brooklyn Bridge" coming in 2007:
My hip-hop career officially ran from 1984-1995, but I left a lot of things, incomplete. There were things in the game that force my untimely exit, and other situations that I believe, NOW, has left a void in todays hip-hop. With brief appearances in 2000 and 2001, kids began questioning why I stopped, and even today, still issue their own personal requests to see me perform once again. Now whether or not Im up for the challenge remains to be seen. I believe theres a time and season for everything. Theres something in hip-hop that makes us unique from the others. Many question if hip-hop is a culture, a life-style, or just an art; perhaps just something only young people can understand. You can look at music, art, fashion, as well as the media, politics, and even religion. Somewhere in this world, hip-hop has affected each of these aspects of life; it just a matter of timing, communicating, and understanding.
"Here in 2006, I want to share with the world what I had originally recorded in the early 90's. This is not a comeback, just an opportunity to share some music with those who love and respect the origins of hip-hop. I have quite a history, and this is just a small piece here on "myspace" fo you to enjoy."
HERE'S THE LATEST UPDATE ON THE NSP FAMILY: Noelle
We'd just finished recording Shakida "Noelle" Hercules new single, "Here With Me" at Rhythm and Rhyme Studio. We will be sharing a brief sneak peak and we are looking to do some more studio work in the coming weeks. This single has received some good reviews, and we hope the MySpace family can show some love for our rising star.
