Began Djing in 1999/2000 after the punk/metal band i was in dispersed and i became more and more submersed in warehouse parties and free parties in fields etc mostly, mainly in London but all over the country also in summer.
Soundsystems off hand like Crossbones, Random sound, Headfuk, Underground sounds,Unsoundsytem, Gabawokee,Innerfield (and a million more i could go on for ever) provided a world i hadnt discovered until my first free party on Cold Harbour lane, Brixton........Jungle drum n bass has been my foremost addiction when it comes to vinyl over the past 9 years or so and obviously techno in whatever form it may come as long as its got that edge u know....not to say thats all i listen to or enjoy...(havnt got much room here =D....so i put some of my favorite artists in the influences haha....
Moved from my home in Surrey (Uk) to Australia in 2004 to escape the madness for a while and met Mode through a mutual friend back home and started 4th Quadrant crew. Along with Mc D-tech who's been involved in the scene over here one way or another for a long time, Gotham from the U.S (Arizona) and Dan Mic. We now have Dj Reoad on board also originally from the U.K but a long time Sydney resident with the skills to pay the bills...A diverse and interesting brew...
We've run succesful parties and events in Sydney town for 3 years now and things are always on the up....
After many local events like Wax'd, Rotation, Future Roots, Future Funk and all the local parties run by other crews like DNBBQ, Protein, Green beats among others. We also played regularly down at Break Inn, in the Cave througout '07 and were blessed enough to support some of our favorite international djs, as well as host our own local nights down there....
We've also played at and been involved with DSS soundsystem, a crew of mostly British lads who run free parties/warehouse do's out here and do it fucking well!
Last year in November we hooked up the Konkrete Jungle guys through Gotham in New York city and are now running our most succesfull night so far as part of the worldwide network of Konkrete Jungle nights. Starting in New York in 1994, KJ is actually the longest running Jungle / DnB regular night in the world (No! Its not Movement! You learn something new every day eh)....
So we're proud to fly the flag for KJ in Sydney! Since Novemer '07 we have played host to international and local artists alike and we're gonna keep on pushing through this summer to bring Sydney the heavy vibes all year round. =D
This year we'll be bringing more Techno aswell, starting off another new night 'Digital Soundclash'....the aim of this night to bring together all kinds of experimental sounds and bridge the gap between jungle,dnb,dubstep,techno and anything in between....theres a wealth of local talent in Sydney....stay tuned...
I've been lucky enough to perform with some of my favorite artists the past few years, and some I have only heard of recently including Quiet Storm (Caspa -Dub Police), Klute, Calibre, Temper D, Raiden, Limewax, High Contrast,Dylan, Silent Witness and Squire, Black Sun Empire......and this year theres more to come with Survival (BOAT PARTY!), Remarc, Q-bik etc.....and plenty of stuff in between on the local so watch the events section...
