Born and raised in Russia, he immigrated to the U.S.A in 1994. During his first visit to a Boston night club in 1997, he was so impressed by the DJ that he decided to become one. He knew that this goal would not be accomplished overnight; determined, he bought all the necessary equipment and started self-teaching. Would the countless hours of work and practice pay off, and put DJ Albertik-- as his friends now called him, in the spotlight? YES!
To his own amazement, it only took one gig! He debuted in 2001 at Club II Panino where people were so amazed and taken by his unique sound and style many requested that he become a regular at the club. The owner, a smart businessman, signed Albertik exclusively to his club.
Unfortunately, the club was soon forced to release Albertik from his contract; the more he performed, the more his fans demanded CD’s to be released. To date, he has released over 15 CDs—an amazing accomplishment, in so short a time. Each release has been a huge success! After releasing his self-titled first record, he began spinning at the top night clubs of Boston: Roxy, Vertigo, Aria, Caprice, Underbar, Venue, Rumor and Axis to name a few.
As his popularity and success grew, it was no longer possible or fair for Boston not to share him. Promoters in San Francisco, New York, and Miami happily invited him to spin at their clubs. He happily accepted, but the U.S. now seemed too small for DJ Albertik! In 2005 and 2006 he became the first DJ to embark on a European tour to Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. It is no surprise that, European promoters and audiences welcomed him with open arms, his talent and sound is truly unique and appeals to people of all nationalities.
Albertik’s success will no doubt continue not only due to his talent, but the person that he is. He doesn’t take his success for granted, and has remained humble, grounded, and true to himself, in spite of the pressures of success. This is one DJ who will rock dance floors for a long time to come.
