Alcane (aka Stuart Chalmers) is a Glasgow based DJ/Producer who has been involved in the Drum & Bass scene for over 11 years now.
Co-promoter and main resident of the night 'Red Alert' founded in August 2000. As one of Scotland's longest running nights, it ended promotions in April 2008 with events running in Glasgow, Edinburgh and its home town of Dumfries. In the time since its inception he has showcased some of the best in established & local talent from all over the UK at Red Alert, as well as finding time to DJ at some of Scotland's biggest and best Drum & Bass events:
Xplicit, Split, LiveVevil, Jungle Nation, Symbiosis, Technical Resistance, Obscene, Jungle Magik, & Pangea to name but a few.
At home behind the decks, Stu not being content with club DJing has also found time to host a number of internet radio shows since 2005. Holding slots on: Radio Magnetic (alongside Paul Reset & Morphy), PlanetDNB (with long time colleague JL Boco), Twisted Frequency Radio & latterly Dark Wax Radio (as well of course frequent guest appearances on Glasgow University's 'Subcity Radio', hosted weekly by Yellowbenzene & D-Fade).
In recent years his production has also has begun to get noticed, with one of his early tracks 'Hash' featuring on the Canadian imprint Make:Shift Records album 'Bassbored'. This LP is available digitally from the label's website: DOWNLOAD
Now he currently fills his time with residencies at Symbiosis (@ The Soundhaus, Glasgow) and Split (@ Cabaret Volitaire, Edinburgh) as well as his weekly radio slot, Tuesdays 8pm-9pm GMT on Dark Wax Radio, home of the best in dark & techno influenced Drum & Bass: TUNE IN

Waves Records is all about diffusion and quality. We are a non commercial label
providing worldwide promotion for
artists with unreleased materials, unsigned artists and people who want
to work with us. We only release free tunes, mainly dark dnb on Criminal Waves
but other underground genres such as Dubstep on Criminal Dub can be expected in
the future. Our favourite format is WAVE but MP3 is also available depending on
the agreement reached with the artist. If you like the concept of the label and

For the third release on the label, we are proud to present Itzokor (aka
Synth). Italian producer and dj, he produces and mixes tracks with his own
style, which he defines as Mechanoid, elaborated with many influences
(breakcore, grindcore, punk, technoid and others). With few releases on
different dark dnb labels, we welcome him on Criminal Waves with our first
techy, dark and heavy single: UNSEEMLY EP.
