Indie music is alive and healthy in Liverpool and has a home in many of the cities venues and so we choose to use our platform to build a home for less represented genres of music. Django's Riff is a music venue in the heart of Liverpool dedicated offering a fantastic array of underground music and culture. PRESS RELEASE. I am very happy to announce that on Friday 15th August 2008 Redder Entertainment in conjunction with Senator Sound System proudly present the Dubzone Summer Special to be held at Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton.
Fort Perch Rock was built as a coastal defence battery during the Napoleonic period to protect the Port of Liverpool. In 2008 it becomes the venue for Merseysides finest Dub/Roots/Reggae event.
Senator Sound System has been active for many years organising and supporting local community events, and holding for the past two years their monthly resident night Dubzone on the last Friday of every month @ Django’s Riff Wood St Liverpool.
Senator Sound System would like to bring a new edge in this Capital of Culture year, and allow a wholly under-promoted genre to shine through.
I must stress that Senator Sound System is a CONSCIOUS sound system. We DO NOT promote violence, hatred, racism, sexism or any other ism’s that may cause offence.
One of the great powers of Reggae music is the Unity and Love which it promotes. Senator Sound System strives to promote this idea through it’s sessions and would love to share it with the people of Merseyside at this event.
Since it’s debut event, Dubzone has built a solid, loyal fan base from the Merseyside area, filling the venue to capacity regularly each month. Dubzone will celebrate it’s 2nd anniversary in August this year with this Summer Special event.
One of Dubzone’s unique selling points is the specialist soundsystem we use for the event. Owned and operated by Senator Sound System, the custom rig will bring a soundscape to the Wirral that you cannot hear or feel anywhere else!
