Shelbric Fuller a.k.a. DJ Arrington Essex has been a triple threat in the arts, entertainment and nightlife arenas for over 10 years. He is the winner of 2 Artistic Achievement Awards in Direction from the University of South Florida, international nightclub DJ and the Producer of over 20 Regional and Off-Off Broadway plays. Summer of 2001, he produced TRIBE (a benefit for Jungle Habitat, Inc.) at Level (New York Times Rated ..1 Nightclub in America). Hosted by Lauren Hutton, it featured performances by Martha Wash (from the original Weather Girls) and DJ/Producers Barry Harris and Chris Cox.
As a DJ, Shelbric Fuller began hosting (under the name DJ DivaGalaxy) Tampa Bays first and only, all-electronic college radio show in 1993. Soon he was DJing at such popular Ybor City hot spots as Tracks, Masquerades and Metropolis. He returned home to Miami, Florida after college and immediately landed gigs at The Milky Way, The Kitchen and Cheers.
In 1998, Shelbric Fuller relocated to New York City to continue his theatrical career pursuits. After several productions, the NYC club scene began beckoning him. He began spinning at small underground parties, fashion events and lounges. Soon, his alter ego, Arrington Essex was born. He was featured in Out Magazine & Out.com for his DJ & musical works as part of the NYC-DJ duo, Skeezer. With Skeezer, Arrington Essex has spun at such places as The Albion Hotel, Nikki Beach Club and Crobar for the 2003 Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida. Skeezers first album, We Are Gonna Freak All Over This Place (Label: GDPC), was released summer of 2003. A double-disk, live-mix album, that ranged from rock to house to punk to electro, it featured tracks from such artists as Aphex Twin, NIN, Pizzacato Five, Siouxsie and the Banshees & Zoot Woman.
Summer of 2003, Arrington Essex completed a summer residency at Remote Lounge, in the heart of New York Citys East Village. Other NYC appearances include Void, The Boiler Room, Spike, Lit, Coz, WonderBar, Elmo, 12 Little Devils and many others. He continues to make his mark in New York City with site-specific events such as Missing Miss Modular: A Stereolab Tribute, Arktikos: The Björk Remix Event and Underground: The Future of Electronic Music.
In Köln, he has DJed at Königswasser, The BodyCheck Party, Osman, The Gloria Theater and Michael Bagnatis Night Affair Party @ Suite 42. His song, Pop-Up Blocker, is included in a 207 Records music compilation entitled Uptown Manhattan. Also, he has just completed producing a tribute album entitled, The Politics of Photosynthesis. It is due to be released in September, 2006. He presently divides his time between Berlin and New York City.
