Antonio Rodrigues, a.k.a. DJ Stikup developed an interest in music from an early age (16). His passion for djing emerged from listening to mix tapes by several foreign artists. A few years later he had the opportunity to meet several nacional artists such as DJ Cruzfader, Dj Pass One and many others, which made his passion for djing progress even more.

Soon he started watching scratch and turntablism video tapes. Realizing that his interest in scratching was growing, he bought his first set of turntables and mixer and committed his time fully to djing ( mixing and turntablism).

After 3 years of long and intense practice, he decided to participate in the ITF 2005 championship in Portugal, alongside the best nacional scratch Djs, where he qualifies in 2nd place . As the national scratch vice- champion, his carreer kick starts and his name is known on a national level in djing turntablist culture.

It is then that he starts spinning in the best national clubs and dance floors, alongside big national and international artists. It is in the same year that Dj Cruzfader asks him to join his record company Encruzilhada Records. Later on, the famous duo SP& Wilson make Stikup their official and tour DJ, which provides him the opportunity to tour all over the country and islands of Portugal. His carreer is then officially launched, as he participates in the most prestigious events and championships in Portugal.

DJ Stikup doesn’t consider himself as a one-note DJ. His sets go from hip-hop to kuduro, electro-house, dub step,UK breakbeat and old school breaks among many other styles. In this diversity, he stays true to his turntablist style and hip-hop background, performing live acts of scratching and trick mixings in all of his sets.
