A Salt Lake City native, Baya began her journey into music as a young girl when she started to dance. Joining both her high school and college dance company kept her moving throughout her education. After dancing and studying in both Hawaii and California, Baya began to find her own rhythm and she realized she was most happy when every inch of her body was moving. It was this realization that started her journey into music.
In 2008, Baya’s life reached another turning point when she became part of MTV’s Real World, Brooklyn cast. While on the show Baya followed her dreams of becoming a performer, taking a residency at New York hot spot, Angels and Kings, DJing for the likes of Pete Wentz, Marko DeSantis of Sugarcult, and Gym Class Heroes’, Travis McCoy. The weekly party has been voted “Best Weekly Bash” by the AM New York, and “top Tuesday night hotspot” by BlackBook. DJ Baya Voce now resides in New York and continues to prove herseld as a truly sought after female DJ in a male dominated industry. Her talents have led her to DJ Park City, Utah’s 2009 Sundance Film Festival kick of party, Mohegan Sun Casino’s Ultra88, New York’s Marc Ecko loft with Platinum Rye Entertainment, as well as various venues nationwide. Outside of the club scene, Baya DJ’s fashion shows, charity events, and private parties.
In 2009, Baya decided to take her music to another level, linking up with Izzy Gold Records and producing her first album, Baya Voce; Self Titled, available on iTunes.
