Each Human Being in this world is born as equally as any other one. The day we open our eyes to face this wild world, God sends us a gift that some of us might turn into a hobby or even forget about it and others may live and grow up with it, until the day it becomes a part of their lives.
Bee Bee, is one of these people who decided to develop the gift given to him by God and not only it conquered his life but it also built up around him a whole world of his own. A world formed of only the music he admired, a world of electronic music.
Born in the 4th of March 1977, Basil Hijjawi (A.k.a.Bee Bee) was taken by the classical music atmosphere and began his journey as a DJ in the UAE more specifically in Dubai.
In his 9th grade, Bee Bee started his first experience by playing in school parties and Proms.
But his addiction to music was getting bigger and bigger everyday so he ameliorated himself more and more when he finally gained his first real and professional experience at the age of 17, the summer of 1996, in one of the first and most popular Dance Clubs of Dubai called "N.R.G".
Bongo Billy, Bee Bee's first nickname as a percussionist, got discovered by one of the best promoters of Dance Music in Dubai, Mr. Paul Dwyer, who lead Bee Bee throughout the way and opened many doors for him to rise his name up through the events that he organised like "In The Mix" (twice a month) supported by "Mix Mag London”, where Bee Bee got his first interview in1999.
That was not all, Bee Bee also played with so many top worlds djs back then such as Graham Gold . Jon Pleased Wimmin . Allister WhiteHead . Dany Rampling . Brandon Block . Judge Jules . Phats & Small . Boy George . Mr. C . ATB . Paul Jackson . The Artful Dodger . Tall Paul at the most popular venues in Dubai.
Fortunately, Mr. Paul was not the only supporter, there was a person behind the scene who was watching his Son performing and pushing him as high as he can to make him reach the top without any regrets or fear, in the contrary he was being proud of him constantly, this person was his biggest fan and best supporter, this person was his Father, May God Bless His Soul.
The proof is, when Bee Bee turned 18 his Father got him his first Turn Table as a birthday gift when, by that time, it was very hard to find this kind of Digital equipments in the Middle East.
In the year 2000, Bee Bee and his promoter moved to South Africa where he also played in many scarlet clubs like Tramps, Pure…etc in Johannesburg and where he gained an interesting crowd from a new environment and a different culture until 2002.
Afterwards Bee Bee headed to London, a place where he got his best music knowledge, above all, the continent where Eletronic Music was born, Europe.
He was received as a guest in Graham Gold's Radio Station, "Kiss" Fm London and played with different big DJs' , so basically Bee Bee was circled by three countries in that time: Dubai-South Africa-Great Britain.
Suddenly, the bad news hit Bee Bee's life and turned it upside down about his Father's illness. He was obliged to go back to Jordan where his family finally settled down after Dubai and start his career as a DJ from scratch.
Jordan was considered in that time a desert concerning the electronic music. Nobody was into this type of music; very few were the people who listened to it.
Bee Bee travelled around Jordan for 3-4 months to study the culture and discover a way to spread his music around the country knowing that there was no radio station and no clubs.
He did not lose faith, he kept looking for contracts and promoters who are already aware of Electronic Music, when finally rumours started to shine and light up Bee Bee's way to lead him to the right direction.
He first played in Barracuda Beach in Aqaba at some parties to start finding his own crowd.
Then in late 2004, Bee Bee heard of the best promoter in town, which is Julian Noursi, and went to present himself and the experience he always carried on with him. She decided to attend one of his parties in Barracuda Beach where she was amazed of what she had seen so she invited him to join Distant Heat's event for the first time in his life in summer 2004 and made the DJ play in its after party in Aqaba.
Bee Bee did not limit himself there, he actually kept playing in Barracuda Beach and in February 2005, he became the Resident DJ of Barracuda Beach for 10 months.
In that place, our DJ found a huge amount of people falling for his music, following him all the way to the top and there Bee Bee's name gained its glory.
The sun of summer 2005 shined on Bee Bee pretty well when he finally got the opportunity to rise himself up more and more, and was asked to warm up for Armin Van Buuren at Distant Heat's event.
The Music Business began and Bee Bee decided to settle down and find his future career in Jordan.
In August 2006, Radio Stations prepared themselves to open up. No doubt, Bee Bee ran into one of the most well-known Radio Station called "Beat Fm", he introduced himself and talked about the message that he wanted to blow around through the radio to all the Jordanian people in and out of town. "Beat Fm" welcomed him vividly and organised him his own show called "Club Sensation". It’s constituted of 5 hours live show, presenting 3 different genres of electronic music every Friday night.
Bee Bee has also hooked up with the world’s number One online Radio Station “Afterhours.fm” specified in Trance and Progressive Music in which he presents two hours session ''State Of JorDance'' exclusively each every second Tuesday of the month.
In November 2006, Bee Bee left Barracuda Beach in Aqaba, got back to Amman (the capital city) and played in many events, like for example Andy Moor, Nick Warren, Hed Kandi, and with many other big names. He also continued showing up constantly in big Clubs names.
Julian Noursi helped him also get in touch with Lebanon's finest clubbers by showing up in Ferry Corsten's event in the after party, in BO18's Club, Xom's Club, Silicon's club…and much more.
In winter 2007, Bee Bee went to visit England back again for 20 days, he headed to Kent where he played twice at the "Loft" under the Club's management request.
In summer 2007, Bee Bee was back in Jordan where he finally became the Resident DJ of Distant Heat's event. He warmed up for the main DJs like Above & Beyond . Dave Seaman . Aly & Fila . Markus Schulz . Mattew Dekay . Remy…Armada DJs and in Distant Heat's 2008 he warmed up for Rachael Starr . Satoshi Tomiie and Josh Gabriel.
In addition to these events, Camel’s company recognized the thirst of the night life needed by the Jordanian population so they decided to sponsor for one of the biggest Dance events in the Middle East called “Urban Wave” where Bee Bee was also the Resident DJ.
Throughout all these years, Bee Bee kept working on his own music and productions. He has released his first combination CD, "State Of JorDance", in 2006 and it is still kicking until now.
Bee Bee has released his first album, "Destination" in summer 2008,
and in march 2009 has released his second album "Floating Wave" in
which Bee Bee will hopefully be able to spread around his music and
his message to all the people in and out of Jordan.

Hi, Bee Bee Everything well? I’m here with a new about my work. It’s the releasing of a remix I produced this summer for Future Shock Records. The track is featured by the female singer Birgit (an incredible voice, for my taste) and it has been a great honour for me to get the chance to work with this Estonian singer. In this case I’m presenting commercial dance music, not trance or electro-trance so I guess it’s an easy listening. Anyway, you have the right word. If you are interested in getting this remix for radio shows or whatever, please, don’t hesitate to contact me. Kind regards and much respect from me.
my latest remix for Neuroscience Recordings, G.S.R. vs Metaverse - Stop thinking, try feeling ( Mihai Christian Remix ) is out now exclusively on Beatport:
