People
are born every second of everyday, most of them carrying amazing traits which
make them not only unique, but sometimes geniuses in their own personal way.
A huge majority of these people go on to lead average lives as they are taught
by their family, the street, their society and their surroundings, many of
them rarely giving any serious thought to their skills, their dreams and their
true personal desires.
As a child, Bismarck's dream was not to be an astronaut or a firefighter,
in fact, since childhood he hoped for something much simpler than that: to
make people smile. Somewhere between his mom's worn stack of LP&'s and his
front-row drum line sets as a tiny 7 year old band mascot, a musical seed
began to grow inside of him. "In school I was always the first one to
arrive to the dances in the gym... I was crazy about dancing with my friends
and checking out the DJ's rig, even when the place was still empty, I was
a party starter of sorts..." With dancing and art as part of the cultural
fabric that makes up Latin America, Bis grew up to embrace all the musical
variety that surrounded him in Costa Rica before he came to the United States.
Then at the age of 14, during a period of struggle in his home and followed
by his mother's death Bis was brought to the US by relatives and friends.
A transition as abrupt as that could only be relieved by the guidance of his
new family in the US and his newfound interest for the music he encountered
in the states. It was not long before Bis went from recording choppy cassette
tape compilations of the music he heard on the Costa Rican radio to actually
working his first set of turntables during his years of High School in Newark,
Delaware. "When I laid hands on the first few pieces of *real* DJ equipment
I was hooked... immediately it clicked and ideas of mixing and playing at
parties would not let me sleep!" And so the eloquent boy, now 18, feverishly
learned to work a mix faster than he learned the English language.

Fast forward to 2008, almost 10 years later
and DJ BIS is more enthused about his relationship with music than ever before.
A quick peak at his calendar reveals a growing amount of bookings soaring
past the 200+ nights in 2006 and billings featured from NYC to just about
every venue in Delaware, Philadelphia, Atlantic City and the surrounding Tri-State,
sure proof that Bis' has certainly attained his dream of making people smile,
for a living.
His musical talent has been featured in wide
ranging events from sold out Electronic music events to massive Urban and
Latin music festivals and full-on concerts featuring some of the biggest names
in the national music charts and international club circuit.
There are no boundaries when it comes to a night with DJ BIS on the
turntables. He is a crowd pleaser at heart, always managing to give the crowd
what they want with plenty of surprises throughout the night.
Bis' Electronic music sets are primarily driven
by House music and Baltimore Club/Fidget; usually including Remix tracks,
Indie Dance/Electro and Tribal flavors mixed with rare white label exclusives
and when the mood is right Hard Trance, Techno and even Hardstyle can break
the monotony of a big dance floor under Bis's watch. For those nightclubs
leaning more towards the mainstream side of things, Bis dishes out a heck
of a Mashup set including classics from the 60&'s on up. For those who truly
enjoy the heat of Latin music, The International Party King
delivers only the best of today's Latin flavors. Chances are you will find

On any given week you can catch Bis at one of his beloved residencies or at
special events making bodies sweat to his unique rhythm along with mainstays
of the industry such as Nadastrom, Louie Devito, Nigel Richards, Infected
Mushroom, Michael Myers and Junior Vasquez to mention a few.
When asked about his music of choice BIS summarizes: "The musical spectrum
is too large and beautiful to get stuck with only one thing..."
With the influence of the Caribbean, Europe and North America all over the
airwaves in Costa Rica during his youth it is easier to understand why Bis
prefers to work across formats the way he does today - "There were no
'genres' when I was 12; it was very natural to see all sorts of music being
played and enjoyed by my friends and I ..." DJ BIS has nonetheless found
the rhythms and the tempos that make the world tick today, beats and melodies
that served alone or mixed together make for a fascinating dance floor experience.
His true talent is attributed to his unique ability to please the crowd
respectively depending on the type of venue, the client and the energy of
the night.
For the remainder of 2008 and through the coming year DJ BIS promises his
ever growing following nothing less than his best in regards to his shows
