To ALL Artists - when you send me a Friend Invite, I'm *expecting* music files to follow, and I'm assuming you want airplay on the station! ...Music is the one love.

If you want me to check out your music, email some tracks to djbluenyc@yahoo.com. You don't have to ask me or wait for anything, just send the music. Please - call it something besides "Track 1" so I can figure out what it is and who did it. :)
I need to know at (at a minimum) the Artist, Title, and MySpace name (not always the same as the email:)) for each track. Additionally, Album, Year, and Genre are very helpful and save me a lot of time.
They are the experts at sending large files and multiple files through email. I will check out the material you send and get back to you.

Music
My Dad was a drummer and a music teacher, and many of my parent's friends were musicians. There was always music in the house; Jazz, Latin Dance, Classical, Rock. And I started my first addiction at the age of 3; the piano. The end result? I listen to just about anything, with only two rules. It has to be good, and it can't be opera!
I like Rock, Pop, Jazz, Country, Metal, World, Reggae, HipHop, Rap, Klezmer, Soul, R&B, Funk, Trance, Disco, Raga, just about anything.
Okay, I lied. I even like a little bit of Opera.
Books
I have favorite authors; the books are too numerous to list! I read books by Isaac Asimov, Ben Bova, Orson Scott Card, C.J. Cherryh, Tom Clancy, Arthur C. Clarke, James Clavell, Richard Cowper, Alan Dean Foster, Joe Haldeman, Robert Heinlein, Ursula K. LeGuin, Anne McCaffery, Elizabeth Moon, Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, Kim Stanley Robinson, John Varley, Roger Zelazny...and those are just the favorites!
Heroes
Michael George Ewing - You taught me how to really listen. Ned Liben - You left us so young, with so much unfinished. Robert Metcalfe - For having the grace to know when you were wrong, and the brilliance to know when you weren't. The inventor of Ethernet. Ed Stasium - One of the best producer/engineers in the business. "Back to Mono!"

First up, apologies to all you for the length of my Silence. Especially, to the listeners of Blue Radio and the artists that have supported it - my sincere apologies for having gone silent for so long!
But here's the deal. I moved myself into SL because of the difficulty building an audience base for an internet radio station. In SL, it turns out to be a lot easier - generating an audience is just not that hard, and if ya work at it, you can generate continuous, large audiences.
I have been playing your music!!! I've done shows at Blues clubs, Rock clubs, Dance clubs, Adult Entertainment (yup, strippers on poles), private parties, and I have found listeners for every piece of indie music that I have! *every single artist who's music I have is getting airplay in SL*!
AND! There is a huge market for live music which turns out is really easy to do. A decent sounding rehearsal room, an internet connection and a PC with minimal software - voila, instant Second Life Live Performance. And yeah, a lot of people do simulcasting - A gig in Brooklyn, plus a feed to an SL stage.
So here is the deal..I want to make a few things happen.
First, I want to build a venue in SL for live indie music. That means you all play for live audiences in SL, giving you MySpace and other artists international exposure - often...Want to do a show a week? :) And yes, you all are gonna help with the promotional end, both inside and outside of SL :)
Second, SL also has a lot of DJs - so I want to find and get the best of them on the air for Blue Radio, and see if we can get Blue Radio into a live 24/7 situation.
Third, I miss all of you and want to do some live radio myself. Hopefully, you all missed me enough to tune in!
This is all gonna take a lot of work, and I need to set up some SL infrastructure so I can start accepting artists for live performance. Since I'm local to NYC, I will probably try to help set up some broadcast-ready spaces. And I need to separate the radio station from my SL persona, and separate the resources.
So be on the lookout for when I start getting it split, and getting in touch with individual artists to get it all rolling.
I've missed all of you, and I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you all. All my love to the artists and their fans.
Music is the one love, and musicians keep that love alive.
