Body Mechanic has been DJing over 20 years and has been an artist and producer techno and rap music for more than 10 years. Born and raised on the Westside of Detroit the Mechanic started his love for music at an early age. He started in high school with his longtime DJ partner DJ Dee doing school functions, radio shows and family gatherings.
Body Mechanic’s latest releases include WSEX; The Electrofunk Mixtape & Legendary which is a collective effort from the old and new school techno producers from Detroit techno. Legendary has music from producers Ray 7 of UR, Los Hermanos and Tek Bros fame, Mr. Fuss of Red Planet Live, B. Calloway of Electrofunk plus music from new comers DJ Spade: tha Specialist and DJ Lego. Legendary has a genre span from techno to house to ghettotech to trance dance that will fill your funky emotions. Legendary was released in Sept 2008 on Electrofunk/h3o Recordings and can be found at your favorite music download store. Other projects slated for 2009 will be The Executive a collaborative project with James Pennington, Raphael Merrieweathers and DJ Spade on Tunnel 7 Records. New four 12 inch downloads on the newly formed DTRecords along with producing new music on the upcoming Los Hermanos CD and has done ghettotech remixes for the folk group Big Yes Small No.
Body Mechanic since has become an accredited studio engineer and has a business degree from Henry Ford Community Collage. DJ Body Mechanic currently hosts a collage radio show Detroit Promo which airs every Wednesday night @ 10pm on WHFR.FM Dearborn, MI. along with releasing techno and ghettotech music on Electrofunk Records, Wide Records, Rockhead Records, Playa 1 Records to name a few. During the 90’s Body Mechanic recorded as the studio DJ with the great Kurtis Blow, Rap Mafia, Papa J Smooth, and produced the rap album “Game is to be sold, Not told - Beast Side Crew”. In 1994 he broke ground with his breakout cult booty bass classic Git it Git it w/ Designated Hoodlums which has been compared to ghettotech music from Mr. De and DJ Assault.
