"THE OTHER OUTSIDE" : THE NEW CD BY THE DJ BONEBRAKE TRIO NOW AVAILABLE!

Donald James Bonebrake (yes, that is his real name) grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. He began drumming at the age of 12 and studied classical and traditional music while playing in various rock n roll bands. DJ entered the Los Angeles underground music scene in the mid-1970's when Charlotte Caffey and Joe Ramirez saw his band, Rocktopus, at Immaculate Heart College. They asked him to join their group, The Eyes, and it wasn't long before members of X caught The Eyes playing at the Masque and asked DJ to be X's drummer. After several years of touring and recording X took a brief hiatus and DJ began earnestly building his reputation as a talented and dependable live performance and recording session musician, playing drums, percussion, and mallet instruments with a variety of musicians and music groups. Today, in addition to playing drums with X, and snare/washtub with the Knitters, DJ is gaining a reputation as a talented vibraphonist. His two jazz ensembles, Orchestra Superstring and the Bonebrake Syncopators, include veteran rock and jazz musicians from a broad range of musical interests.

X	Jun 2 2009 8:52 AM A STATEMENT FROM EXENE CERVENKA June 2, 2009 After some months of not feeling 100% healthy, I recently had some medical tests run and the prognosis is that I am suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. Apparently, it has been affecting me for quite some time. Although this is obviously unfortunate news, I am choosing to see the positive in it. I, and X as a band, have supported the Sweet Relief charity since the mid-1990's; the irony of this is not lost on any of us. Sweet Relief was started as an aide to uninsured artists by musician Victoria Williams when she herself was diagnosed with MS in 1992. While this diagnosis will most certainly mean some changes for me, personally, it will not affect my commitments to the current X U.S. tour, nor will it affect my solo album that is slated for release this fall on Bloodshot Records. My focus will certainly be on maintaining my health--many people remain strong and continue to live their lives as productively as they had before an MS diagnosis and I plan to be one of those people.
