Bio
.. .... ..DJ BoneshaKer....On September 10th, 1984 the music industry would be given a gift that could only be blessed from god. He would become DJ BoneshaKer, “as far back as I can remember I have been interacting with turntables”. BoneshaKer is referring to the early influences from his father and his Uncle both who performed in New York city nightclubs and were resident jocks WBLS (NY) during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. This is only part of BoneshaKer’s inspiration, “back then DJ’s focused mainly on the art of mixing; now a day’s DJ’s can barely do that. It’s the fundamentals that separate the good ones from the great ones, imagine if a basketball player could not throw a basic pass.” Perfecting his craft is the code he lives by; he would attend high school tired like most kids but for different reasons while most were sleeping or hanging out with friends BoneshaKer was home in the early hours of the morning practicing mastering his art. His style is described as a conglomerate of past, present, and the future. BoneshaKer has left many with jaw dropping moves some often asking themselves “What the…”, or “How did he…” hence him earning the name as “the Crowd Controller”. Inside of his toolbox, Boneshaker keeps an arsenal of smooth mixes, beat juggles, high-speed scratches, with a touch of acapella blends. ....Growing up BoneshaKer recalls being glued to the radio and studying DJ Demo, “his mixes were so clean, and when he cut records he never ‘over did it’ he did it enough to show his skill then let the record play”. As a child he enjoyed listening to artists and groups such as Rob Base, A tribe called Quest, Leaders of the New Skool, Eric B. and Rakim, Grand Puba, and list goes on from there. BoneshaKer goes on to say “Man that’s when hip hop was HIP HOP, artists used to just put out records and let the fans decide; now there is some sort of made up formula. I think that’s when I fell in love with Djing.” ....BoneshaKer started performing at sweet 16’s, and weddings, years later he then transitioned into local nightclubs in Long Island, New York. This is where he would meet C. “Smooth City” Corridon and Michael Coppola two young entrepreneurs. The two recall on the night stating “We remember the song he was cutting up there were two of them actually and boy oh boy did he show how good he was.” From there on he would be 1/3 of the group “AuReo”. AuReo released an independent album in 2003 and have sold close to 6,000 copies to date. In 2005 was the return of the group with the single “Oh No”, which heated up airwaves from coast to coast. .... In BoneshaKer’s personal time he enjoys fishing, this is where he first saw the name “BoneshaKer” along the side of a boat. After friends said that his skills made their bones shake when they heard his scratches and blends, it was only appropriate for his name to be “BoneshaKer”. Hard work and practice is what he lives by, BoneshaKer recalls on a time when he was 19 and he was removing vinyl crates from the trunk of his car the crate slipped and fell on his left hand leaving it fractured. His hand was left in a hard cast for more then 6 weeks, while most would have relaxed and enjoyed the time off BoneshaKer was working on his week hand his right. “I was so worried that, I would not be able to DJ ever again! So I just kept practicing and practicing.” By the time the cast was removed BoneshaKer was a new and improved DJ he perfected his right hand and his left after hours of training was quicker then before. .... BoneshaKer credits his parents and for molding him into the raising star we see today. So much that when it crosses his mind of cutting a corner or not doing the right thing he thinks of his “guardian angel” his mother. On August 27th, 2005 Mrs. Cruse passed away of after a long illness. BoneshaKer has risen to the challenge of helping raise his younger sister. “My father really showed me what being a man all was about. He has been through a lot and he refuses to falter, I admire him more then he knows for that.” To his mother he was the apple in her eye and loved the fact that he was career oriented at a young age. He has always knew he loved music, but at that moment he knew play time was over, it was time to show the world who DJ BoneshaKer really was. .... BoneshaKer continues to work hard and carry on the legacy of the finest DJ’s from Long Island, DJ Diamond, Biz Markie, and Jason Ojeda. He currently controls his two radio shows 101.7 The Beat, and internet radio on StrongIsland.com, along with his 4 night per week club schedule. That does not leave much time for fishing. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. ........ .. .. .... ..
