Rodrigo Carvalho aka Dj Bongsi 25 years old from Leiria centre of Portugal, where he lives.
In the early 90's he used to listen to Alternative Rock like Pixies and Violent Femmes. In 96 he had his first contact with Electronic music (House and Techno) but in 98 he was caught by Psychedelic Trance. Within this style of music the projects that marked him most were Paps, Psychaos, Shiva Shidapu and Logic Bomb. Nowadays projects like GMS, Wrecked Machines, Growling Machines, Shanti, Soundaholix, Krome Angels, Last Men Standing, Domestic and Pixel are his top preferences.
In 2003 he got the passion by the mixing art and from the small stages to the big ones was just a small step. His dj sets are based in the Hi-tech Full On side of Psytrance. He performed already in places like: London (Event Horizon), France (Gibus Club and Electronic Music Festival), Spain (Omni Festival), Amsterdam (Musicon Club), Brazil (Sunside, Raja Ram Tour, Planet Ben Label Party, Starlight Records Label Party and Trend's), Morocco (Rhythms of Peace Festival) and on the same stage of artists like: Astrix, Alien Project, Atomic Pulse, Alternative Control, Altom, Brainiac, Bamboo Forest, Bizzare Contact, Cyrus The Virus, C.P.U., Deedrah, Domestic, Dynamo, Delirious, Hyper Frequencies, Hux Flux, Inner Action, Infected Mushroom, Intelabeam, Last Men Standing, Menog, Mekkanikka, Panick, Neuromotor, Orion, Perplex, Phyx, Polaris, Psycraft, Psysex, Quadra, Sesto Sento, Star-x, Silicon Sound, Sub6, Spectrum, Sirius Isness, Talamasca, Triptych, Tikal, Total Eclipse, Ultravoice, Wrecked Machines, Xerox & Illumination, X-Noize, or djs like Dimitri Nakov (Spun Records), Raja Ram (Tip World), Mack (Spun Records) and John 00 Fleming (Hommega Productions).
He has already played under the name "Ruod-Rik" for Ibiza label "Mp Records" and after that in the French label "Mahogany Records". After leaving Mahogany he decided to follow his own way.
At the end of 2005 he founded the "STARLIGHT RECORDS", a label based in Portugal and with the goal of show the Hi-tech Full On style around the globe. The label is already rising in the international psyscene with some parties in Brazil and also in Japan. Together they are climbing the stairs of success and the future is an endless road, always going up…
