About me: First off, I am aware that "Boricua" is spelled with a C and not a Q. I like the way it looks with a "Q". Call it "Puerto Rican Ebonics". Now, about me, I left my beautiful island at the age of 18 for the US Air Force and became an Air Traffic Controller. I was stationed at Okinawa, South Carolina, South Korea, and Northern California. I've also done assignments at Colombia, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia. While in Saudi Arabia, I DJed for American and UN military forces. I DJed and taught salsa lessons with Anna Blouin at the Delta Breeze Club inside Travis Air Force Base, CA from 2001-2003. I've DJed at Agenda Lounge & Motif Lounge in San Jose, Monte Carlo Night Club & Buddha Lounge in Mountain View, and Caribbean Gardens in Burlingame. I was also one of the DJs for the 2007 & 2008 SF International Salsa Congress. Currently, I am one of the resident DJs at "Glaskat Lounge" in San Francisco and "Shboom! Nightclub" in San Ramon.
As a dancer, I was a member of Yemaya Salsa Dance Troupe (directed by Emelie Andagan & Abraham Contreras) in Sacramento from 2002-2003. I also danced for the AfinKao Dance Company (directed by JC Labio & Tellina Rezzoffi) in Oakland from 2006-2008. I've performed at the West Coast Salsa Congress and the SF Bay Area Salsa Congress. I won the 2004 "Salsa with the Kings" contest with Anna Blouin in Sacramento, the 2007 and 2008 Pretty Boys & Girls Productions So You Think You Can Dance contest alongside Giana Montoya and Crystal Lequang, and the 2007 Open & 2008 Masters SF Bay Area International Salsa Congress' Jack n Jill.
