Was f*ckin blown away when one of my mates sent me the demos of the Arctic Monkeys songs last year! Theyre deadly! Go listen to the demos nevermind the best selling debut album of all time shit get the demos theyre well better...
So in the last few months decided to start teaching myself the guitar...
Id been learning to make beats and do remixes n stuff on and off for a few years now so thats helped me know a bit bout the structure of songs..
I started just messin with a rap vocal and instrumental and mixing them together but as I went on I started gettin indie tunes and mixing them with rap music or making remixes of them...
Most of them are shite though. :)
I reckon Im good at writing lyrics so learning the guitar was the way for me to go really...
I probably wouldnt have been arsed but when I heard about the monkeys I decided I had to have a go then.........now Im an old man. Still trying. :) Not really......
Arctic Monkeys, Oasis... that Pete Doherty wanker etc prove that just cause you come from a posh, upper-class home in England.. doesnt mean you have to spend all of your days..

The brainchild of Sara Radle (of The Rentals), Calamity Magnet melds the world of indie-pop with girl group harmonies of the sixties, adding a hint of country flavor and the occasional peek at a Beatles influence.

hi andy, yeah i got a load of effects but still that's not how you make your guitar scream, you do pinch harmonics, they're a bit difficult to learn but once you get them they're easy, you just have to put your thumb down a tiny bit past the pick, so that as soon as your pick hits the string your thumb very lightly touches it aswell, you can also do just really high natural harmonics. it's easier to do them if you have fresh strings on your treble setting is high. anyway good luck with them. lloyd
ok mate whatever but
firstly. our CD is not a demo it is a full on 14 track album. Secondly it cost us a hell of a lot of energy as well as money to record and produce, £2000 if i remember right.
