Soul Providaz was formed back in the year 2000. It all started with a bunch of talented young DJs who grew up into the garage scene. Back then it seemed such a struggle to get gigs in bars and clubs as everyone who was into this scene aspired to be a DJ. It was because of this that I, (DJ Caine), decided to link up with some other DJs and lay on our own nights .Soul Providaz was born. It wasn't always plain sailing as I am sure some of the original members of the crew will tell you. I will always remember our first gig in Croydon. It was such a competative town with many big name DJs playing in all the clubs and bars. We just didnt have the finances to compete with them but even after losing money we still carried on because to us, it was more about the music and creating the right atmosphere, than it was the money.
After a few successful nights in the uk I decided to go abroad and promote Soul Providaz. Many of the original members stayed in the uk to keep things rolling.
It was in Agyia Nappa where soul providaz really came into play where I linked up with the likes of Agent K and MC Super. After playing a few gigs alongside Agent K I knew that he was the man we needed to try and kick start Soul Providaz.
I tempted him to come back to the uk with us and do some gigs, which he agreed to.
Akent K then persuaded me to travel to Falaraki with him to play out there, which was a huge success. After that we travelled to Malia where our producer and sound engineer DJ Vaio set us up with a couple of gigs.
Coming back to the uk, Soul Providaz has now linked up with its original members to lay on top quality nights and perform for the people. Soul Providaz has some very talented DJs with a vast variety of music generes, from hip hop to house , ukg to drum n bass. We try not to catagorise ourselves too much but of course we all have a certain style of music that we like and enjoy to play. The main thing to us, is creating that right atmosphere and vibe when we perform so that we connect with the audience. Without the right crowd there would be no Soul Providaz.
