Raul de la Cruz a.k.a. DJ Cangrix was born in south america ,he was always inspired by the music,He is the only child but he grew up with his cousins the whole time. He came from a middle class family and he also was into sports and hanging out with the friends,DJ Cangrix wasn't a A student ,he consider himself a B to C student,on elementary school he was a quiet kid and sometimes he got picked on by his friends,he was also very shy to participate on school funtions such as (poetry,dance,etc),but with the years DJ Cangrix open up and he ended up with a sociable kid arround his school/neightborhood.
When Cangrix started High School ,he participate on the soccer team ,and he stayed at the type of B and C student ,he was playing on the posicion of deffender ,and they just to call him (leg killer),nobody couldn't pass by him because Cangrix will go straight to the oponents leg and end it up on the floor,he finish High School and his next step was the university. Cangrix was going to the prep for a few months getting ready to take the university admision test but,the light opened for him and he have a chance to make a desicion ,either to stay back home or move and start from scratch moving to U.S. With his father,and Cangrix decide to take the 2nd choice . Cangrix arrive to the U.S. And start his life from scratch,he also meet some family that he never met before(uncles,cussins,etc),he stayed at his uncles house(justo & maria) who threat Cangrix like another son,because this family already had kids(justin & michele).
DJ Cangrix was a latino kid ,who never spoke english before ,and our lenguage is ENGLISH here in the US,so he went to school and also he always had support from his uncles(justo & maria)who are to him like his 2nd parents ,on the house the only lenguage we spoke was english,even tho we latinos,and in most latin family houses they speak spanish ,on this household was different ,Cangrix also had the help from his cousins(justin and michele)wich are like a brother and sister that he never had. So Cangrix step up his game on the lenguage ,also he had a several jobs ,something he had never done when he was back home because he was underage,and he always was focused and listened different tunes from music videos and also the radios,then Cangrix got sorrunded by people from different nationalitys(dominicans,colombias,salvadorians,puertoricans,etc)and he started to listen the type of music his co-workers did (spanish stations and cds)and music for Cangrix started going a bit more and more. Cangrix became legal (21yo) and he started to hit the clubs with (friends,family even by himself),and getting the feel of the club scene and the nightlife,he started to see how the DJ's in NYC did their thing and asked him self ,"why can I be one of them?" so Cangrix went to samash and guitar center etc,and he copped himself at cd table tops and a mixer,so he went home that same night and open the boxes like a fat kid trying to eat some cake and connect them,and he said Wow,I can do this ,but I need a name to go with me ,so he asked a friend KLASICK(producer and beat maker from NY) and he told him how bout DJ CANGRIX and Cangrix say ,that's it!.
Cangrix started on the DJ game on jan 06,he was alone like most of the DJ's when start on the DJ game,he stated to make blends and they came out off point and it don't even beat mached with the acapella,le spend hours trying to get it done till he got it on,he meet DJ Blinblineo(chi-town DJ)and asked him for advise and DJ Blinblineo tought Cangrix how to make Blends,then he went to DJ's forums and exposed his work and got some feedback 90%positive ,so cangrix was happy for what he was doing,then he meet DJ Calle and gave him the oportunity to be on Calle ent,that was the first crew Cangrix was inn and he was really happy about it ,not having 1yr on the DJ game ,Calle saw potential on Cangrix and he took him in on his squad. Calle/CangrixStorm/Blinblieno/el tito and a few more people became to be Calle Ent,Calle works with Chossen Few and other people like A&X etc,our work was getting notticed and people actually like what we are doing, "we always trying to do our best and what we like "cangrix said,dec 06 came out and cangrix was hitting 1yr of doing his thing,always focused and looking foward to do more,Cangrix got picked to be on LatinFlow,(its a crew formed by Dj mixxxkid and all the DJs there got atleast 5yr experience)so Cangrix was really happy to join LatinFlow DJ Crew,btw you can check him out at www.latinflow.net
Cangrix started to make connections with the help of DJ Calle and get to know more people in the music industry,Cangrix got incontact to jary founder or www.reggaetonwear.com and Cangrix got the Chance to do a photoshot wearring the official perreo brand www.reggaetonwear.com, and also he met the big boss of www.spmgentertainment.com with the exclusive artist "chavito" And a few more people on the industry ,so people don't Sleep on Cangrix. Cangrix always look out for DJ Willie ,he just to make mixtapes in newark back in the day ,those are the 1st reggaeton cds cangrix ever listen to,Willie just to live 10 min from Cangrix and Cangrix didn't know,Willie is a international Dj now 1 reggaeton mixtape of the nation and a really inspiration for Cangrix,check Dj Willie at www.djwillie.com
Also there is a few people Cangrix wanna thank,first of all,his parents Carlos and Panchita for give him life and want the best for him,also his 2nd Parents Justo & Maria for love him like another son ,without even knowing him(Cangrix owes them everything he is up to now to them and he will never forget that) ,I'm sure most of you would like to have 2 parents ,but Cangrix was 1 of the lucky ones. Also the people on the music industry,Dj Calle ,Dj Willie ,Dj el nino,Dj blinblieno,Dj storm ,Dj mixxxkid,also all the artists out there ,just to mention a few of them Chavito,roc,nitro y fanta,pura vida,el tito,el indio,noztra and more! As of now DJ CANGRIX is the DJ for Charlee y kingston and also on the crew of "LOS MULTIFACETICOS" since 2007 working at king studios"el estudio del fuego".
