Her delightful marriage of Latin, Soul and smooth electronics perfectly captures the mood of the times. In addition to being a vocalist/producer, Carol C is a DJ well known for her eclectic musical selections, spinning Afro-Brazilian, House, Downtempo, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Funk, Rock, and Soul. She maintained a 5-year residency with DJ Ursula 1000 at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York and has DJed for Giantstep, Trace Magazine, BIG Magazine, Sephora, Calvin Klein, Conde Nast, GenArt, Levi’s, Direct Drive, and Bloomingdales to name a few. Carol has played in New York at places like Turntables on the Hudson (The Frying Pan), Lotus, Boulevard, Highline Ballroom, S.O.B's, Bar 13, Cielo, Marquee, Bed, and APT. As a vocalist, Carol C has appeared on albums by well-known artists such as David Byrne, Thievery Corporation, King Britt, The Funky Lowlives, Mocean Worker, Nickodemus, Madrid De Los Austrias, and the Jungle Brothers. She has released two albums with her band Si*Sé, one on David Byrne’s Luakabop (Virgin) and the other on Fuerte Records (Universal). Through both singing and DJ'ing she has also had the opportunity to work with artists like Norah Jones, Cody Chesnutt, Stuart Matthewman AKA Cottonbelly, Zap Mama, Cesaria Evora, Natacha Atlas, Prince Paul, Suphala, Vikter Duplaix, DJ Rap, DJ Osiris (Afrokinetic), Stretch Armstrong, DJ Scribe, and Kool Herc.
