Dj Charlie Bucket Charlie began his musical career as a drummer playing in various jazz and funk bands in perth in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.Until upon returning from a European trip he discovered the art of djing. With an already eclectic and diverse taste in music Charlie began to infuse his love of performing with his passion for record collecting. Soon Charlie began spinning at a variety of different night spots around Perth, playing a wide range of funk, soul, hip hop, house, disco and reggae. In late 2003 Charlie was introduced to a fellow funk fanatic who began a weekly night at the leederville hotel aptly named “The Funk Club”. What started out as a bit of fun and a chance to hear the music we loved soon morphed into an almost legendary status drawing huge numbers and international performances. Included in those performances where artist like Amp fiddler, Norman jay, Gilles Peterson, the jungle brothers, Dj z trip and many others. As the resident at the Funk Club Charlie Buckets career began to flourish and soon he was touring nationally and djing on the festival circuit’s in perth. Charlie has supported many artists such as Basement jaxx, Groove armada, Blackalicious, Norman Jay, Dj Dexter and many more. Charlie is currently residing in Perth and is the resident dj at Kuppa on Thursday’s, double lucky and devilles Fridays, Tigerlil’s and The Manor on Saturdays and the rosemount hotel on Sundays.
