HOUSE PARTY PICS! These pics were taken by Jon Ridley at a House Party in Peterborough ON Canada on May 19 2006. The DJ gear was set up in the garage chillout room style and the main sound systems were outside in the backyard... I DJ'ed for about six hours playing everything from classic Digweed and Sasha progressive house to Ils quality nuskool breakbeat to New Order remixes to unreleased promos from Billy Whizz (fresh from UK hours before the party - thank you BW!)... Hope you guys like the pics... Jon did a few camera tricks I didn't know were possible without any photoshop involved... and special thanks to Amy Banks who organized the party, and everyone there who made it a terrific night!!

I started out playing in live bands, many different genres, but particularly electronic and rock-electronic hybrids back in the 90s. I wanted to go to school for keyboards performance and studio engineering - which meant I had to put my bands on hold, because touring was interfering with showing up for school. So I decided to do something more local, and got into promoting underground raves and club nights with friends, and working in the music industry. After I finished school, I was looking for more opportunity and had become a bit bored with Toronto. I started to travel to USA and Europe to figure out what I really wanted to do. I discovered the quality breakbeat scene in London UK... and really haven't looked back since. And I've always loved progressive house, and basslines that make me want to dance!
I feel like I'm just starting out, even though I've been on my journey for a long time... I've lost track of time... I've left footprints here and in many places all over the world... I've met lots of great people and made lots of great friendships... If every person you've met is a part of who you are... come with me on my journey. Life is too short to not live your dreams and follow your heart, staying true to yourself, and living without regrets. Great music makes the journey so much more fun, real and worthwhile. Berni-Rare B-Sides I was chilling out with some friends last Sunday afternoon when me & my buddy decided to crack open a couple of crates, dust off some old classics & spin some of that old wax just for the hell of it. Taking it in turns to try & out do each other.... it wasn't long before we we're straying away from the main mixes & going into obscure B-Side / Remix territory. A lot of fun discovering some old gold, not to mention some REALLY flakey remixes by some now BIG DJ's ; ) I picked my top 10 favourites of the session & decided to make this hour long retro mix with a twist. All tracks are recorded from the original 12" Vinyls which have seen toooooo many parties & most of them are 15-20 plus years old so expect some surface noise especially on the intros which wear down the fastest / get most abuse. Pretty much a straight mix with only a tad of digital f**king with.
