DJ CJ discovered the jungle sound around 1992, it hooked him straight away and he was fascinated by the music, and the djing skills that it required for performance. In 1993 he got his first set of decks and began mixing. Over the course of time he held residencies with ‘Squeeze18’ as well as ‘Freedom Sound-System’ and ‘Omnipotent’. CJ also played all over the free party and warehouse scene; at outdoor events across the country, not to mention raw, sweaty Hackney raves.

After a couple of years abroad CJ resettled in East London, and finally got a pc, aiming to get into production. On the net he discovered a new internet radio wave, and was one of the original members of the UKBASSRADIO team. UKB blossomed, leading to a nomination for best website at the 2007 1Xtra ‘Xtrabass’ awards, and a night hosting at Brixton’s ‘Fridge’ nightclub. The tunes also started to come together and CJ won the 1Xtra ‘Cutting Room’ final in 2006 with his track ‘Brain Chemistry’. CJ also started working with MC Kalaish – a partnership that is still going strong.

Over time CJ built up his production kit, and in tandem met the vocalist Mezo via the web. They began swapping ideas and collaborated on a couple of tracks. Then in early 2009 CJ hooked up with DJ RAP. Finally the ball was properly rolling, and ‘Elation’ is set to be CJ & Mezo’s first dnb release, with more in the pipeline.

ayy wats goin on its been quite a moment since i seen whats goin on with you... Im just living life working hard like always.. rehearsing for these shows i got in Santa barbara @ the velvet jones... thats bout it over here... ohh yea and travelling a bit... but I guess thats the norm for me... but wats with you drop me some lines when u can and make sure to always keep in touch with ya boi...
