About me:
I got into house music back in 1988-89 and
followed DJ's such a Danny Rampling and Steve Proctor and was going
to loads of London based promotions EVERY weekend which sparked my
interested in becoming a DJ.
I bought my first set of decks around 1994 and over the space of a few
years became good friends with Sally and Mick from a promotions
crowd called Clubland Records. I started playing the occasional
warm-up set for them which always seemed to go down well with the
crowds and eventually lead to me playing more of the main sets for them over the
next few years.
DJ'in with Clubland Records allowed me to play at some of the
more prestigious clubs across London and the South-East UK which included The
Ministry Of Sound (London), Glasshouse (London), Limelights (London), SW1 (London)
and Bagley's (London) to mention but a few!
Eventually certain family responsibilities hit home and I hung up my
headphones for a number of years. That is until a change of
circumstances and an opportunity to DJ back at the Ministry Of Sound
back in July 07 which re-ignited my passion. This inspired me to
invest in a pair of CDJ1000-MK3's and a DJM600 which I very quickly
taught myself how to use and haven't looked back since.
I then registered myself on www.mixupload.com and over a period of a
few months gained some respectable chart results and
met a load of really talented DJs and promoters. This seemed to jump
start my DJ life and since then, I've DJ'ed a various locations around the South East
including a number of FNUK and Raunchy Rhythms events.
I mix all genres, mainly Funky/Vocal House but also mix Electro and Techno and
always appreciate a good chillout set after a heavy night!
Rhythm, mood, harmony and a cracking vocal are among the most important elements I look for when
choosing and selecting the tracks I play.
I'm currently hosting an on-line radio show every Thursday evening 21:00
> 23:00 BST on www.phatbeats.net/home_studio and DJ'in at various
events around the South East of England. I'm currently resident DJ
for FNUK @ Dusk in Weymouth and have started to get myself into the
Brighton scene by playing at Loose @ The Ocean Rooms in Brighton!
