Corbett began DJ'ing at the age of 16 (1990). His first major club appearance was at the Limelight's "Tribaldome" party on Thursday, Feb. 20, 1993. He impressed the club's promoters and was immediately hired as a weekly resident. Limelight was THE hottest NY club at the time. Corbett also grew quickly as a DJ and moved into residencies at other NY hot spots of the day: Club USA, Tunnel, Palladium, and Expo. Corbett is one of the few people who held down a residency at Limelight that has spanned over 7 years, including a weekly for 3 years straight! Corbett began to travel and play out. He did spots all over the U.S. and made two trips to Germany and Austria as early in his career as 1994. As a DJ, Corbett prefers to play long sets in order to fully express himself musically to the crowd. He has a unique method of combining various styles of house, tribal, tech-house, and dark future-progressive sounds. In recent days he has found himself taking on most of his gigs outside of his home area of NYC.
Early on, Corbett played with the idea of producing and remixing but it wasn't until 1999 that he began working on music. In 2000 he also launched his own record label, Oval Records. In early 2001 Corbett was selected to compile and mix the first CD bearing the Limelight name. In June 2001 the CD was released and it debuted at ..44 on the Billboard Electronic chart. By the end of 2001 the CD had sold over 12,000 copies.
As a producer, Corbett puts forth a dark, techy, tribal sound that also wanders into the progressive. His tracks have received turntable action and support from the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Oscar G, John Digweed, Keoki, Fred Numf, Trendroid and many others. His remix of Abe Duque "She Is Yours" was selected as the opening track for Oscar G's new mix compilation CD entitled "Bangin: Progressive Beats" on Tommy Boy Records. He also recently completed a remix of the Lectroluv/Junior Vasquez classic "Dream Drums" for a Paradiso Records in Paris.
