Dan Feeney's DJ career started just 4 years ago, after experiencing some of the best house and Breaks night's in the north such as the legendary "Music Factory, Bed and Urban Gorilla" his passion for US House and Underground electronic music grew and grew. With influence such as Sasha, John Digweed, Pete Tong, Dave Seaman, Robert Miles, Nick Warren, Ian Ossia, Seb Fontaine, Danny Rampling and Allister Whitehead to name a few. It was hard for Dan not to play music that would make people rock on the dance floor as from an early age his fathers influence in taste of music has had a great impact, with genre's such as soul, funk, motown and even metal with artists right from Pink Floyd to Thin Lizzy, Dan's music taste is vast to say the least.
He realised that this was a very competitive and difficult industry to get into and decided to get some professional qualifications. In 2004 he received a distinction grade in Professional DJ Diploma from Point Blank Studios, Brown Street, Sheffield. He then followed on by taking a professional production course which is now allowing Dan to create his own unique sound which he can incorporate in to mix sessions and sets.
With an approach & attitude that is slightly different to most Dan has established himself as one of the most original DJ's that Sheffield has exposed in recent times. His sound might be difficult to pin down but this broad, innovative approach to mixing is making him a name in Sheffield.
His general style incorporates elements of house, techno, breaks, electro & acid, but depending on the crowd and venue you can find him playing anything from Liquid Drum & Bass right through to chilled out US Garage & House.
As well as having the technical ability, enthusiastic attitude and the passion to see projects through he recognised that contacts and respect within the industry is vital to success. Since beginning his residencies @ Takapuna, Forum and the well establish bar chain Revolution he started to earn much respect with promoters and other DJ's a like in the Sheffield scene.
Dan Is also no stranger to promoting as well, having two successful nights which he runs across the length and breath of the UK. He started Mishap which is a US House and Electro night 1 year ago and is now starting to run the event through 3 of the Revolution bars, along side that he runs Stereo Zoo, this night is anything dirty, from prog to electro and right through to Breaks and even techno. Dan's vision was to hit London with this monster and have the best of the best grace Inigo's Decks 'n' FX . He has had the pleasure of playing along side The Freestylers, Mr C, Vandal, A.Skillz and Micky Slim and future act to come like king Unique, James Zabiela, Josh Wink, watch this space...
