%D%A%D%A Dan was introduced to the House Music scene in 1995 through a friend who brought tapes back from Ibiza… Over the next few years frequent trips to London clubs including most notably 'Peach' @ Camden Palace in London UK ensured he became addicted to the then booming 'Trance' scene with tracks like Paul Van Dyk’s ‘For An Angel’ making him sit up and take notice of what dance music was all about! %D%A%D%A In 1998 Dan decided to try the 'DJ' thing for himself ... “From the moment I handled my first piece of vinyl I knew it was going to be a healthy but expensive relationship”! %D%A%D%A The bedroom DJ was soon born and it wasn't long before he was sharing his enthusiasm with others by promoting/DJing a monthly House/Trance night called ‘Addiction’ in his local area – Southend-on-Sea Essex. The night ran throughout 2000 and was a great success, being backed up by local bar/club gigs, but Dan began to find it difficult to play the quality House music he wanted, due to the local scenes demand for the more 'Cheesier' tracks! %D%A%D%A Come December 2000 Dan jumped on a plane bound for Australia to try the 'travelling' thing for a year. His only contact with the sacred turntables whilst away came by blagging a couple of gigs through a friend he met in Australia! %D%A%D%A Dan returned to the UK in December 2001, and promised himself that he would do his best to carve a career in DJing and since being back he has been doing just that, whilst working locally to pay his record bills! His hard work soon paid off when a demo CD to Turnmills in London caught the ears of a promoter and he secured a regular spot at London bar Anexo (above Turnmills) where he had the freedom to play quality upfront House Music! %D%A%D%A In May 2002 Dan entered a CD into British dance music based magazine 'Muzik's search for a new ‘Cream Resident’ the legendary UK club who’s past residents include Paul Oakenfold & Seb Fontaine. The competition was also in association with music giants ‘Sony’ ensuring plenty of media coverage along the way. Dan made it through to first round and found himself travelling up to Sheffield to compete against 5 other DJ’s for a spot in the final. %D%AWinning his heat, (which were judged by industry moguls including DJ’s Steve Lawler & Lottie) he found himself in the final 10 DJ's out of 1500+ original entries and was given the amazing opportunity to play at ‘Nation (Cream)’ in Liverpool! %D%A Unfortunately Dan wasn't the eventual winner, but was left saying, “the experience was amazing and taught me a lot”, and this has since proved the main platform for securing some good gigs… %D%A%D%A Plenty of DJ dates have followed since most notably at some of the UK’s biggest clubs including Main Room dates at The Gallery Turnmills (on 8 occasions in the past 2 years), Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, The Cross, The End and more. In November 2003 Dan Toured India (6 DJ Dates) in association with Ovenready Productions and Laughing Buddha Records and is set for a month long return this year. Dan is also currently successfully promoting/DJing his own night ‘STRIPPED’ @ Turnmills which has run once a month since August 2004. STRIPPED guests have included – James Zabiela, Desyn Masiello, Paolo Mojo, James Holden, Phil Thompson, Lexicon Avenue, Jonathan Lisle and STRIPPED is set to continue moving forward. %D%A%D%A As well as the names above, Dan has played alongside some of dance music’s other big names including – %D%APete Tong, Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Boy George, Marshall Jefferson, Nic Fanciulli & more %D%A%D%A Throughout 2005 & 2006 Dan continued to progress and develop his sound with numerous DJ dates around the UK. In May 2005 he warmed up for Paul Oakenfold @ Turnmills and has been asked back time and time again to get things going in the Main room... infact Dan has played in every room possible at Turnmills and is a regular at the famous London Club. Dan has played almost every majot club in London - Turnmills, Pacha, The Cross, The End, Ministry of Sound and many more. Dan has also played dates abroad in Spain, Sweden, Norway and in Feb 2006 and August 2006 he’s jetted off to India on a month long tours and is set to return again in 2007. %D%A%D%A Alongside his DJing, Dan has recently taken his first steps into the studio and hopes to produce/collaborate on a few underground-related dance tracks further into the year… Watch this space!

Yes, this is another one of those mbc's (myspace bulk comments), but we make no pretence and anyway this is one with a difference!
If you haven't already heard, this Sunday (29th) we're playing at The White House in Clapham for P45 - “A Sunday night out that’s actually worth the risk”.
P45 will rival anything that a Friday or Saturday has to offers, and is sure to have just about every employer in London fretting.
“It takes something a bit special to keep people out on a Sunday (and risk actually getting their P45!!) and I think that’s what we’re creating here…We’ve got some extra special guests and artists that will make the Monday morning hangover seem more than worth it.” Quite fitting then that the legendary Freeform 5 and Ladykiller, as well as ourselves, have been invited to kick off the opening party.
Free before 5pm, then 5 quid after, there really is no reason not to come down and say "Hi".

With 52 parties a year, here at Gallery HQ we like to mix it up every and now and again to keep things fresh and interesting. This week’s all-nighter for example is one of those such occasions where on Friday 23rd March we present an All-Girl Affair and a date with the scenes leading female jocks. This is a tried & tested formula with all previous events of this nature causing a real buzz. Must be that female touch huh?!
Dan Galbally (DJ)
