As long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated with two things; Science and Dance Music. Moving to Ottawa in 1998 allowed me to pursue both passions simultaneously. In the past 10 years I’ve completed two degrees from Carleton University and am currently in the final stages of a doctorate in aerospace engineering. The majority of my time outside academics has been spent on music, whether it’s DJing, promoting, and networking on the weekends, or obsessively shopping for new tracks ANY chance I get.
If I had to choose one genre I'm drawn to I'd say - house. I play anything from fun and uplifting to deep and techy depending on the room and how I’m feeling. My first gig was back in 2003 and since then I’ve played every good (and not so good) club in the city.
I’ve held numerous residencies, most notably at Surface Afterhours where I opened for a wealth of international talent and worked the peak slot on an almost monthly basis. From 2004 to 2005 I worked closely with Mikey Siorek. We managed, promoted and DJed Thrust Fridays @ Umbrella room - a club night that became a staple to the Ottawa dance scene. It was here where we welcomed a collection of renowned Canadian DJs including Brad Copeland, Luke Morrison, Mat Ste. Marie, and John Boisvenue. Around that time I produced and hosted Velvet Radio on CHUO 89.3 FM. The show aired Fridays from 9:00 to 10:30; a prime time slot for getting listeners ramped for the weekend.
More recently I’ve had the pleasure of playing at stereobar (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2230306478), Heaven (www.clubheaven.ca, www.myspace.com/clubheavenottawa), and this great afterhours called sunrise (http://www.myspace.com/sunriseafterhours). I’ve also begun to focus my energy on production and mastering.
I’m just getting this site running so I’ll be uploading mixes (new and old) as well as productions in the near future…
