My name is Daniel Rodriguez and i was born in Seville in 1977 I have been
always interested in music. I grew up listening to all kinds of music: Pop,
Dance ( Tone Loc , Ace Of Base, The Prodigy) or Trashmetal ( im a big fan of
brazilian band Sepultura). I think that you can get feelings from any kind
of music but since i was very young i started preferring dance & electronic
sounds even tho Spain was a step behind from music upfront scene. Thanks to a group of friends who used to visit London i got in touch with
most popular styles in those years (jungle, trance, techno, happy
hardcore...) choosing jungle as my favourite.At the age of only 14 years old
I started to get interested in djing and all the things that it involves,
focusing more on the techniques and skills than in a certain music style.
Djs such as Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Dj Hype, Rob Foster, Dave Clarke...
left a deep impression in me.
I got my first decks when i was 17 and immediatly i started djing using my
own and borrowed vinyls, only a week after i matched my first mixes with
Marco Carola & Sven Vath tunes. I wasnt bothered about a certain style , i
just was looking for music which gave me good feelings. This search was
helped by the popular and well famous djs Javy Union and Dany Dejota who
owned Union Records vinyl shop in Seville which offered a wide variety of
fresh vinyls into each certain style to their customers. Finally I found my
style... Breaks. I started to go to Breaks events here in my area which were
completely different from nowadays ones, everything was underground and
promoters focused their interests in variety and quality not worried about
profit.
After polishing my Dj skills and owning a decent vinyl collection i started
my dj career permorfing in local underground raves and being quite succesful
because of my different mixing style. In those performances i evolved into a
dark breaks dj but keeping an open mind about different sounds. The dreams
started to become something real and sadly i also discovered that being a
famous dj is not only a matter of effort, skills and technique. Anyways my
wishes came true with my first important performance outside Seville sharing
line up with Chris Carter and the most important local djs such as Dj Wally
,Dj Man or Rupe.
Finally with the developing of the internet, geographical distances
dissapeared and i got in touch with new labels and artists such us Sonz Of
Mecha. I assumed that no one would do anything to help me in success and i
started "Agressive-Breakz" together with my friend Darkerz and we managed
to get a show and a bit of promotion in DynamicBreaks radio. Agressive-Breakz started to be popular and finally we reached our maximum
peak of success in 2004 when ,together with BreaksFM, we organise the event
called "Mental Groove" which held an awesome line up with names such us Sonz
Of Mecha , Ed209 or Phrenetic.

The night was a great success because we
gave the attendance something different. After a few smaller events and some
colaboration with Public-Noise web site, Agressive-Breakz dissapeared
because of different points of view of its members.

Darkerz became a member
of Stormtrooperz and I decided to take a rest dissapointed about the ways
the scene was following.
But it was only a step back to get more impulse, nowadays together with my
partner Rayden ( a top Oldskool hardcore Dj) we run Sunshine Crew a new
concept-of-promotion group which tries to get the scene back to its roots
offering a wide variety of electronic music styles in our events. Its been a
short journey ( still ) since we started but we have had already well known
names of the dj scene such us Sonz of Mecha, Ed209, Lawgiverz, Phrenetic,
Stu Chapman,Dj nee or D-ranged in our events and we hope they are only the
first ones in a long list.
