If you are a band or label that would like to send me promotional material to be considered for airplay on tormented radio, please follow these guidelines:
1) Before contacting me, make sure your music actually fits in with the other music heard on tormented radio. I get many requests for adds from bands that will never get airplay on tormented radio because they are metal, hip-hop, or otherwise don't fit in with the music genres represented on our station. I understand the desire to get your music heard by as many people as possible, but asking a dj to play non-industrial/ebm/electro music on an industrial/ebm/electro station is just silly.
2) Have some method for me to listen to your music quickly and easily so I can decide if your music will make the cut and get airtime. Myspace provides a decent system for this, but it isn't always reliable. I won't blame you if myspace is broken when I try to listen, but I will contact you to let you know I was unable to listen and may request an alternate listening method if myspace appears to be down for an extended period.
3) If I decide to play your stuff, I'll reply and let you know. I prefer digital delivery these days. Please prepare a web or ftp site where I can download high quality mp3 files (128kbps or better encoding). If you prefer to send actual CDs (hey, it's your dime), please respond with a request for my mailing address.
4) If you don't hear back from me, please don't be offended. I get a lot of requests and I'm very picky about what I'll play. If I don't like your music, it doesn't mean it isn't "good" or that you're a bad musician/singer/etc or that I dislike you or your band as people; it simply means I didn't think your music would blend well in the station format.
These guidelines may seem snippy, uppity or elitist to some, but I'm really just trying to save both of us some time.
