Deval is young Bolton-based DJ/producer Michael Kelly. His sound encompasses many different styles from urban breakbeats to soulful melodies, reggae rhythms to deep house.
Deval’s progress over the past 11 years has been rapid and diverse; from djing in small clubs at the age of 15 to producing, DJing for some of the biggest names in the World. Having presented the morning radio show on Sunset 102fm with Greg Edwards (Jazz 100.4fm), on April 18th 1990, Deval set up Nu Styla Sound (NSS) with his brother, Wilson-K. After numerous private parties they established over 7 NSS nights in the North-West that lasted for over 3 years. From 1998 to 2000 Deval promoted several successful Drum&Bass nights in Manchester and from this point on his reputation was firmly set. He went on to DJ at scores of events around the North West of England. At this time, Deval became the resident DJ at Spellbound where he began to showcase Nu Skool Breaks alongside the world’s biggest Drum&Bass artists. Having proven to be one of the top Nu Skool Breaks/Drum&Bass/Break-Beat DJs in the North, Deval’s abilities seem to be as diverse as his achievements.
2005 was a great year for DJ Deval having seen him playing music to DnB heads in Spain, France, Holland, Austria, Ireland, Scotland with releases on Flex (Alongside Kaleida and Xample), Reformed, Step Express and his own 12th Round Recordings and Industry Artists Present... labels.
At present Deval is concentrating on a new project so watch this space!!!
