I started writing songs at the age of 19 on a sequencing video game for the Playstation called "The Music Generator".. Thats where the song writing seed was planted in my brain. I wrote 2 albums using only that game. From there i upgraded from a very limited video game to a YamahaRm1x and a Casio as a MIDI controller. I composed 3 albums with that setup, recording on a borrowed macbook. Somewhere in between i found a love for turntablism as well and took up deejaying and scratching. i worked as a deejay under the name Surreal Entertainment for a year. After retiring from the world of professional deejaying i decided to invest in some new gear. I acquired a new computer, a MicroKorg, a Trigger Finger, an Oxygen & Reason. I found Reason to be extremely easy to use so i have stuck with it ever since. Though i do still use external machines to drum up ideas and layer on tracks.... With that setup i have produced nearly 5 albums. I write mainly in the area of Electro but i do tend to stray...
Though i only started writing music at the age of 19 (less than 10 years ago) my journey with music started when i was just 13. I used to make mix tapes of the old electrofunk and hip hop i would hear on the radio growing up in Orange County, California. Music genres i have been/am influenced by include: Electro, Bit Pop, EBM, Hip Hop, Post Punk, Industrial, Turntablism, Miami Bass, Synthpop, IDM, Electrofunk, New Wave, Electroclash, Goth, Darkwave, Electropop, etc..
I am NOT a fan of house, trance, d&b, hardcore, jungle, rave or any other offshoot of those genres.
