RNC was born in Limon - where the reggae and caribbean music rules - by his founder and leader D. J. Acon A.K.A The Veteran...
Reggae Night Crew start as a Sound System called Jammin’ lead by Acon…this sound became the most important sound in Limon in the late 80’s and 90’s,making the the people dance in the best bashments,reggae events and concerts.
When Carnavales de Limon where happening, DJ Acon was offered to start a bashment every Friday and Monday in Puerto Viejo -the south part of the Caribbean- in a bar called Bambu…Acon decide to call Reggae Night to this event and it was the real start of the RNC ….Reggae Nights where so famous that people all over Costa Rica and Panama came to this great bashment every Friday and Monday to listen to the best vibes from the Veteran…the name Reggae Night got immortalized in the mind of all visitors that came all over Costa Rica to the Bambu place…when people said Reggae Night , immediately mean D.J Acon and his show.
Later on ... in the Bambu days at Puerto Viejo Acon met D.J Dixon and D.J Gioconda…they became good friends and share great moments making events and bashments all over Costa Rica …they became a big family and decide to enter into an alliance called REGGAE NIGHT CREW…they where the pioneers using the word “Crew” to call the family of djs.
D.J Gioconda and D.J Dixon where the ones in charge to make the people dance for 4 years in the best and first LADIES REGGAE NIGHT in Costa Rica…in the reggae bar called Raices…now D.J Dixon open and plays with Acon in every show and Gioconda plays reggae roots in Bar Roots , San Pedro…years later they decide to introduce new members to the family : D.J Kyo from Cartago and D.J Zion the remix master.
For 5 years RNC had a radio show for 1 hour from Monday to Friday called : Limon Reggae Night on The Air 98.3 FM -Radio Casino-…all Limon people where tunned and identified with this show….Now , since Nov. 1st 2007 , RNC has a new show at 103.1 FM La Radio Joven : “Reggae Night Crew on Air”… for 2 hours ,everyday from Monday to Sunday ,from 10pm to 12am , playing the best reggae music.
We are the REGGAE NIGHT CREW … we specially play : Dancehall, Roots, Culture, Righteous, Sound Selector, MC, War Sound specially in Clash…
