Regarding indie music, I choose not to single out favorites, but of course I have a few. When I meet new people, they always ask me who the best indie bands are, but the best advice I can give is to listen to Electric Effect. If I don't like the band, I don't play the band.
Most of the bands are also on my friend's list, so check out their spaces.
Regarding more mainstream music, my favorites are: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Chris Cornell; and I also like Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Ram Jam, Sting ... there are really way too many to mention.
