Influences
My influencies come from the experimental rock( hearing bands like: Mr Bungle, Primus,Nacked City,Massacre,Golden Palominos, Masada and many more...), classic rock ( the doors,Jimi Hendrix, Led zeppelin, pink floyd, nirvana, rage against the machine,ac/dc,black zabbat, metallica and many more...) industrial(Ministry, Godflesh, NIN, Praxis, the residents...), trip hop(massive attack, portis head...), bossanova,chill out, drum and bass, breakbeat,IDM, house, and minimal, in all forms, like: deep, tech, techno,house.The most important sing of my production´s, is make the people dance.I´m very influenced by the power of the bass...In the electronic house music I feel so influenced by producers like: Akufen, Atom Hart, John Tejada, , Alex Under, Pan Pot, Excercise One, Troy Pierce , Tobi Neuman....and many more
DJ ELÁSTICO. (ENGLISH BIOGRAPHY)
My involment in music started when I was 15 years old when I started to play bass and started my first bands. In 1992 I entered university to study Sound Engineering and formed a band of experimental rock called MARMAJA. This band played in the underground chilean rock scene for 5 years together with other important bands such as Fiscales Ad..hoc, Santiago Rebelde and La Floripondio. Together with band member Miguel Tutera (who now is making electronic music for labels like Substatic, Unfoundsound y Toys for Boys ) we composed the music and made the arrangements of MARMAJA. In 1997 when the band was disolved I started getting involved in electronic music. I bought my first sampler and computer and started to make music for short films of cinema students and TV spots.
After Marmaja was disolved, and until today, I continued playing bass but now with an electronic pick-up using a midi interface. With others musicians and a dj we formed a band called FLAN, which made music influenced by Drum and Bass, Ambient, Down Tempo, Trip Hop and House. With FLAN we participated in many important electronic music events in Chile such as Encuentro con la Technocultura (Sun Electric, Atom Hart, Martin Shopf y Ricardo Villalobos) and Earth Dance. We also played in the first electronic club of the city called CASA CLUB...contributing to the emergent electronic scene in Chile.
In 2001 I began CAIPIRIÑA TRIP, a new proyect with a famous chilean artist called María José Levine, mixing bossa nova with electronic music. Paralell to this proyect I was the resident dj of TANTRA LOUNGE CLUB. During 4 years TANTRA marked a difference in Chile with its glamorous production and artist programming. Here I played with dj..s such as Nick Warren, Danny Rampling, Steve Lawler, Jimmy Van M, Mau Mau...
In 2002 I moved to Ibiza and was the resident dj in Blues Bar. I also played in Base Bar, Mao Rooms and Underground. In September I moved to Barcelona which is where I began my residency in CITY HALL CLUB as dj Elástico. I also play frequently in many bars & clubs: Bar Le Kashba, Risco, La Macarena, Club 13, Fusión, Mochima Club. During the summer of 2004 I was the resident of the Mochima Chiringuito, playing weekly at the best party on the beach. In March 2005 I started to make my own party: POKER CLUB at CLUB FELLINI (Nightsungroup, La Terrrazza) where I currently have a monthly residency. Also I have played abroad: in Paris in Club OPA , L..ille Enchantée & BATOFAR and in Amsterdam in Da Kring Club (MAD).
I combine my dj activities with musical production at my home studio and will release my first EP, called KON-FUSION , with the label Funkdango of Barcelona.
My style...
I like to mix different styles of music and take people on a trip during the session. I mostly play house music but with a strong influence of MINIMAL. Some times it’s groovy and happy and some times dark. Other influences are deep-house, breakbeat, tech-house and techno.
