Emanuel became deeply inspired by the emerging underground house scenes of San Francisco and Chicago in 1991 and at just 21 he bought his first pair of Technics turntables to practice mixing this amazing new music only heard of in underground clubs at the time. To further his musical journey, he spent every waking minute in the record stores and spent his hard earned dollars on records... and so he began to explore and cultivate the uniquely diverse House sound he is known for today.
He bought his first belt drive turntables back in 1986 after watching the movie 'Wild Style'
'Grandmaster Flash was a big influence on me'. Plus early Hip Hop and Electronic funk like Cybotron, Hashim, Miami Bass, Coldcut, Twilight 22, Egyptian Lover, Adonis, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Newcleus and the Jam on crew and of course Afrika Bammbaattaa who were sampling German Electronic groups like Krafwerk.
He started playing at, organizing and promoting underground parties throughout Northern California, it was not long before he caught the eyes and ears of clubs and promoters alike and was soon booked at many of the top clubs throughout San Francisco, including Skunk Lounge with good friend Razor, 1015, The End up, Liquid, Sunset parties, Groove Lounge, Back Flip, 555 Mina st, Funky Buddha, Recycle, DNA, DV8 etc...
Many parties and yrs later...
With a musical style that encompasses funky house, electro, tribal, tech House and some minimal house. He maintains a strong emphasis on the technical aspects of djing, as well as creative programming of track selection, which makes him stand out from the rest.
"I feed off the the energy from the crowd which is transcended back thru the dance floor. It is this electrifying force that moves people and is the ultimate high!" responds Emanuel.
He has traveled to Thailand in January 2000, made the choice to move to the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand and has become a key figure in the development of the Thailand club scene and helped make it the global phenomenon it is quickly becoming. Emanuel’s name has become synonymous with Bangkok’s club scene, both inside and outside of Thailand. He has been to places as diverse as Singapore, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives and all over Thailand.
His weekly Wednesday Models night at Bed Supperclub in Bangkok has become one of the most talked about nights throughout Asia and he is regularly called upon to play among the top DJs in the world there ie.
