Born in the Dorchester section of Boston, MA. Marcus Roberts aka "DJ Excel The Mixmaster" caught the Hiphop bug as a teenager, he was a break-dancer, graffiti tagger, & rapper (then known as RCA).
In 1990 he hosted a Hiphop show called "Another Def Jam" with DJ Audi on Boston College Radio WZBC 90.3 FM Radio for two years which lead him to interview & meet Queen Latifah, Krs One, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Lyte, Kurtis Blow, Public Enemy, Nice & Smooth, DJ Premier, Guru, Jeru Da Damaja + many more of Hip hops elite.
In 1995 "DJ Excel The Mixmaster" along with Underground Productions (Brad Young & Dow Brain), released on his own label Lady Lee's "Situation" (female reggae chat over Channel Live's "Madizm") that landed him his first record deal on Signet Records. That record was played all around the world and landed at Number 4 on Gavin's Reggae College charts.
"DJ Excel The Mixmaster" moved to New York City in 1996 to pursue a career in the music industry as a Producer/Remixer. Along with DJ Pistol Pete (Brooklyn NYC) He remixed Off The Hook I & II + Armed & Deadly by Cutty Ranks.

DJ Excel The Mixmaster has just recently remixed "Deja Vu" by BEYONCE FEAT JAY-Z & JAM-MASTER JAY, CHRIS BROWN'S hit "Run It" & The PUSSY CAT DOLLS "Don't Cha" with DJ G Squared of The Kreators.
He's also remixed SEAN PAUL'S "Like Glue" on Atlantic Records & SASHA FEAT. FATMAN SCOOP "Coca Cola Shape" (Dat Sexy Body) on VP Records. He has over 100 or more party breaks & remixes from USHER, to PINK, to NAS to DESTINY'S CHILD in his catalog!!! His most famous work, "HOOK ME UP" an old-school party mix, has sold over 50,000 copies on vinyl and is considered a classic party break!
