Well as a kid I've always loved Chicago House Music which eventually turned into Rap/Hip-hop as I grew into my teens. By 15 I started Producing my Own Beats on Fruity Loops got pretty decent at it but not as good as I would have hoped. Eventually I found out I could put an Acapella with an Instrumental to make a completely new song. Looked it Up Online and Learned the Correct term "Blend".
By 16 I started messing with Sony Acid to make my Remix/Blends and started off the same way any new person would start. Stuff came out sounding Wack but I thought was Hot at the time HaHa. I started saving up some Cash to get some Turntables and get into DJ'n. I Finally got a Pair of Stantons as Well as a Single Gemini from a Family Member. I then started Using the name DJ ERICK to promote myself.
By 17 I started getting better at making my Blends, stuff was sounding Hot and Others were telling me I've greatly improved. Getting Better and Better I decided to Drop my no thought put into DJ Name and come up with something better. I wanted to have something No One has and completely Unique, Eventually landed on DJ EXCRUCIAL (cool name right? HaHa)
Coming close to turning 18 I really started to dislike some of the Hip-Hop coming out. I felt as I needed so move away from the regular 2Pac/ Biggie Oldskool Blends everyone was doing and really Try and make something new. I got back into House Music as well as Electro and started Mixing it.
Till this day I Love Blending Electro/House with Hip-Hop. But some days I do go back to my starting roots and Mixing regular Rap/Hip-Hop.I Love trying out New Things and not just limiting myself to One Style . I tend to say that to lots of people who are just starting. Don't Be Afraid to try New Things, it's the best way to advance yourself to the next Level.
**Forgot to Mention that Currently DJ'n has become more of a hobby and I am Currently more focused on becoming an Recording/Mixing/Studio Engineer
