I am DJ Frankie.
My DJing is comprised mainly of light<->mid scratching (beat-juggling, chirps, transforms, tears, manuals) with extensive beat-matching and on-the-fly remixing. My working rig is with 2 Numark CDX turntables and a Denon DNX1500S Mixer. My performing rig is that with the addition of a UREI 1601S sampling mixer, Roland SH201 synthesizer, and Technics SL1200MK2 Turntable.
My sound is on a near professional level, sporting dual 18" precision subwoofers, 2 dual 12" cabinets, as well as an additional pair of 15" powered speakers. Extensive, atmospheric lighting effects including multi-colored party lighting, spotlights, intelligent moving beam lights, lasers, strobe lights, and fog generator.
I have unparalleled flexibility with song-demands - - simply provide a artist/track list- I will acquire the songs, produce remixes, and deliver them in a way you've never heard before.
Blanket genres encompass hiphop, breakbeat, dnb/trance/techno, rap, and rock. My style is influenced with my musical-expertise delving from 16 years of piano. My theory plays an integral role with harmonic mixing and specialized mash-ups.
For all this I offer superior rates- Almost 40% cheaper then competing agencies in the area, with TONS more experience and skill to offer.
[Prices are custom depending on the client's unique demands- average rate of $80-$90 per hour (compare to competing agency's average rates of $500-$600 flat fees for 4 hours!)]
Turntablism is the art of manipulating sound and creating music using phonograph turntables and an audio mixer. Beat mixing, scratching, and beat juggling are some of the elements in a Tablist's arsenal.Turntablism is a subgenre of hip hop, emphasising manipulation of a vinyl record. One who engages in turntablism is a turntablist: A term created in 1994 by DJ Supreme, to describe the difference between a DJ who just lets records play, and one who actually manipulates the sounds of a record. This term was later popularized by DJ Babu (of the Beat Junkies and Dilated Peoples) who inscribed his mixtapes as "mixed by Babu the Turntablist."Turntablists DJ's use turntable techniques like scratching or beat juggling in the composition of original musical works. Turntablism is generally focused more on turntable technique and less on mixing. Some turntablists seek to have themselves recognized as a legitimate musician capable of interacting and improvising with other performers.
