As much a virtuoso behind the turntables as he is behind the microphone or the MPC, DJ Face has made a name for himself in the 13 years that he's been in the music business. His love for music and specifically Hip Hop goes back to the early 80's when in 1983 he won a talent show doing a classic break dance routine.
When he was twelve DJ Face's older brother introduced him to the art of DJing and he immediately felt at home standing behind the decks. He has since excelled both as a DJ and a producer creating tracks for Souls of Mischief's Tajai for his Power Movement Project and DJing at clubs from Baltimore to Hong Kong.
As a DJ, Face has performed along side the likes of Pete Rock, Kid Capri, DJ S&S, Grand Wizard Theodore, Little Brother, Black Sheep, EPMD, The Roots, The Gza, M.O.P., Clinton Sparks and many more.
Face's true talents are evident when he's whipping the crowd into a frenzy and packing the dance floor. His excellent record selection, seamless blends, and superb timing keep the party moving all night.
"You have to be able to feel the crowd, vibe with them and know exactly what they want before they do. It's not an easy thing. I've been doing this for a long time and my brother before me so I've had plenty of practice. Being an emcee has also helped me a lot, staying vocal on the mic at the right times, keeping the crowd pumped, it's beautiful when you see it all click!"
