I get my influences not only from the massive album collections and Indie downloads, but from sounds of nature and man, harmonized. Trance is a touchy genre, with many limitations and borders to fall into. It can't be too upbeat or too sideways. However, I can bend those rules like my idols, DJ Tiësto and PVD. Listening to their music, gives me the upmost of motivation to aquire newly discovered sounds and matching them with the unique beats, experienced artists are familiar with. However, popping in that 'Just Be' album by DJ Tiësto, and listening to track six (UR), who couldn't be influenced to make such sweet music?
Sounds Like
As a whole, I make unique sounds, never really using presets or pre-programmed riffs. I think the one DJ that I sound quite similar to is DJ Sasha and maybe DJ Tiësto on a dark album (his earlier releases). I don't much like to be a copy-cat. I stick to chord progressions that I discover for myself. Then, outloud, I let the world hear what my heart feels, and what my feet step to. Taking a small underground club, to a height unseen by man.
So,
my name is Anthony. I'm 23 years old. A beach bum, a single-wide trailer in the big city. I've been doing the music scene for quite sometime. I got most of my inspiration from my brother Tyler, who first introduced me to "pure" Trance. Not Techno-splash or club-style Dance; real Trance. From the ambient sounds of DJ Sasha to the more complex rhythms of DJ Tiësto, I've gained motivation from almost every major artist on the globe. Even Indie-Trance, or what others may call "Underground", has caught my attention and tracked in sparks that lit fires, for many of my compositions. I attained the name 'Firespade' from an older nickname 'shovel'. I have a facination with burning, not like pyromania, but the destruction and recreation that fire can process. Like the music I make. A breakdown of chord progressions can lead to entirly new material, flowing like a neverending river of goodness. I can usually tell, just like anyone, good Trance tracks because you always get goosebumps on the uplift of the song. I enjoy it, being that it is my life and one true love (except my daughter), it will never stop amazing me.
Trance. A rebirth, life and finale all in a single song.
I've been working at Music Venue down in New Orleans. They've been treating me well so I staid after graduation. As of now, I plan on staying in the south but may move to florida in the next couple years. We're still young so we can move around like that. How's the electronic music coming?
I invite you and your friends to check out my new track "Falling".
Let me know what you think. It will be released in full next month on L8-Night Records.
