BIO:
I am a thought full, open minded individual, greatfull to be alive. My mind is down to earth, cosmic and universal, even though I was born and raised in a small town. I happen to be obsessed with music! There is alot more to me than what's posted here obviously, but this may be helpful...
DJing History:
In 97' I got into electronic music through the Amp and the Hackers soundtracks, both of which included the best modern EDM at the time and introduced me to groups/DJs like the Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Orbital, Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, Aphex Twin and Prodigy. Through these core artists I developed a addiction to EDM, culminating in a vision of me rocking a crowd, with electronic music at a house party! This spurred me to ask my parents for a DJ-in-a-box kit for my B-day, which I received for my 17th in 2000. That year also brought me to my first rave, SpringFest 2000, which was amazing, introducing me to the sub-culture. Self-Taught, I followed my inspiration, and continue to do so, forging ahead with my own "Formless" sound of funky/hard/wobbly/fidgety/progressive/techy electro house/breaks, dub-step, techno, tribal, and occationaly electro/melodic/progressive trance. My style also integrates elements of rock, hip-hop, funk, reggae and mixer tricks throughout. Through my intense, eclectic mixing style, I've gained the respect of my DJ peers, as well as a sizable following of fans. Without the support of my family and friends, I truley wouldn't be anywere!! I owe soo much to them.
After DJing consistantly day in and out for 9 years, and playing out for 7, I have put out 10 mix CDs, continuing to release highly conceptualized demos. I'm striving to help the EDM scene as much as I can by introducing new people to it everyday, promoting shows, playing out as much as possible and from time to time throwing events. My abilities have taken me to Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, LA, Humbolt, and as far as Bend Oregon and SLC Utah, as well as countless outdoor spots in the Sierra Mountains area. Ive played with such international talent as Frankie Bones, Dylan Rhymes, Geezer, Dave Ralph, D:Fuse, DJ Dan, The BreakFastaz, Uberzone, Heavyweight Dub Champions, Bassbintwins, Dave Dresden, Mars, Viro, Mancub, Mystre, Keith Mackinsey, Danny the Wildchild, J-Breaks, Josh the Funky 1 and J-Bass. Ive also had the fortune to play with such local artists as Dragn'fly, Dyloot, Forest Green, Denise, Ron Reeser, Dutch, Gamma, Ghost, Mek, Cantos, Gianni, Company Truck, Vince Lombardi, Kiro, Nick Nyquil, Liam Shy, Adam Ant, Andy P and Undecided. The dance crews I am affiliated with include: United Vibes, Desert Tribe and Starry Eyed. I have also played at shows for all the other major local crews, including: Stilldream, Lite-Bright, Midnite Entertainment, Foreign Blend, Progreshiva Productions, Collective Conscious, Desert-Tribe, Hi'R Entertainment, Classic Grooves, Sweet Tooth, National Entity, Kryptonite, B.A.M., Shaolin, R.P.M. and Another-Level.
Im also deeply interested in philosophy, metaphysics, psychology(transpersonal), art(of all types), consciousness studies, the quantum sciences, spirituality, the occult, magick, shamanism, politics, different yogas, and mysticism. Some of my influences in those feilds include but are not limited to; Carlos Castanada, Alex Gray, Robert Anton Wilson, Terrance Mckenna, Aliester Crowley, Michael Talbot, Drunvolo Malchezideck, Mahayana Bhuddism, Edgar Cayce and G.I. Gurdjeff. I was raised without a religion, but consider myself a spiritual person, as many of the worlds religions interest me.
I used to be realy big into drawing up until my high school graduation, upon which my focus more or less shifted towards my music as I got better at DJing and got more into electronic music. My art resume includes: Lessons at the Iron Gate, Art class in 8th grade, then in high school I took Drawing, Advanced Drawing, Beggining Art, Intermediate Art, Advanced Art, Advanced Art AP, and 3D Art.
I think you are fucking rad and I love you! I have to gather all the songs i want for the ceremony on a cd and we would work out the timing and what not.. do you have a microphone like for audio for the ceremony cuz at my cuzs wedding you couldnt hear anything! Dont stress over it its not till June and we dont have a date.. But if you get a wild hair.. think like Frank Sinatra meets Stellar from Incubus mixed with "this will be an everlasting love" that famous wedding song. Just music not intended for dancing.. its going to be low enough for people to talk over and just set the lovey mood because like my old family members are going to be there.. But when all the gay people leave id want you to spin the good stuff for like a 1/2 hour or something..Cuz I wanna dance all drunk out. I dont know I have to sit down with you cuz i dont want to go into this blind. So Im coming up to stay here 60 days before the wedding so itll be then (I live in Fresno) its going to be the 1st or second sat of june so save the date but I so appriciate you! Thank you so much and 250 is awesome! You rock
I've been medicated. As it turns out I'm bipolar. I'm sure it was kind of obvious... heh. Anyway, after the last spell of depression I went to see a doctor (he was awful!). I was on my way in to a mixed episode (mostly manic) when he gave me bad drugs (which I recognised where bad after taking only one so that was that). I stoped seeing him and went off the deep end for a little bit. I was manic the last time we talked on the phone. :/ I guess it's a little embarrassing if I think about it too much. When I started to come out of it I realised that I can't do that any more. Not just to myself but particularly to the people around me that get caught up in the tornado. It's just not fair. The first medication my new doc had me on as great until I developed an allergic reaction... so now I'm on lithium. We'll see how it goes; all I want to do right now is sleep and eat so I have to count every calorie like a hawk and push myself to go to the gym at night... except on weekends because those are dancing nights! I've been doing that anyway but it's trickier when you're out of it and starving. Thank goodness for water! I hope you're on a high part of the ride right now...and ideally that there aren't going to be more drops :) *hugs*
Thank you very very much! Zach I miss you.. I live in fresno so its lame that its been so long since we visited and smoked together. Hey I was wondering if you would be willing to DJ my wedding (ya im so excited) His names Jake and were hoping for early June but do you spin all occasion type of things? Id give you a list for the ceremony songs and stuff like big band music for after wards. I dont think I want dancing just backround music to set the mood while people mingle. But lemme know and tell me what your fee is for like 4 hours?! Id so appriciate it cuz in all the books ive been reading it says find a dj first! (and i dont want someone i dont know.. because they can call and cancel the day b4 then id be fucked!) so please consider and lemme know Zachy Wyld! Love ya
hey formy!!! it was great to have you over! jon and i really enjoyed your company and good conversation! hope we can do it again soon! minus the tilt tho.... it made me hella sick! have a great night tonight and stay safe! love ya!
Hey dude1 How's it going? Long time no talk... Probably my fault; I'm never on myspace any more now that facebook stole me away. Heh. So how's it going???
