Il aura fallu que Francis Guy (alias DJ Francis G) gagne le Deejay Contest du Circus Afterhours à l’hiver 2007 pour qu'après une décennie de véritable passion musicale, son nom rayonne partout dans la grande métropole. Il faut dire qu’il avait d’abord été sélectionné parmi les 283 inscriptions, gravant neuf semaines plus tard son nom sur le premier prix du concours, devant les dix-sept autres finalistes. Cependant, Francis sait mieux que quiconque qu’il lui faudra travailler doublement pour prouver qu’il mérite pleinement ce prix et pour faire sa place dans le merveilleux monde du nightlife québécois.
C’est d’abord le Cabaret Mado qui lui donnera sa première vraie chance dans la métropole. Depuis, la complicité avec sa collègue Lady McCoy - avec qui il partage un vendredi Happy hour sur deux - ne se tarit pas. Même chose au Complexe Sky, où il cumule une panoplie de fonctions. Près de trois ans plus tard, il compte en banque une multitude de performances remarquées au Club, au Pub et même au Cabaret de l’endroit, dont deux mémorables prestations aux événements majeurs de fin d’année.
Prêt à fonder sa propre entreprise le 8 juin 2009 (Francis G Inc.), il mettra à profit son expérience et ses connaissances dans le domaine (responsable des cinq salles du complexe, programmation des consoles, réparation d'équipement électronique) en décrochant le poste de technicien en chef du légendaire complexe de la rue Sainte-Catherine Est.
À l’été 2009, le club Unity Montréal lui proposera de signer les éclairages de ses populaires weekends, une offre que Francis ne pouvait refuser. À titre de DJ, il aura même l’occasion d’ouvrir le samedi soir pour certains invités de marque, dont Brett Henricksen (Masterbeat), Jeremy Khamkeo (Tor), Dave + Gerardo (NYC), Seth Cooper (Texas) et Danny Torrence.
Il n’en fallait pas plus pour que le Red Lite Afterhours de Laval le remarque et lui offre de signer les éclairages de sa légendaire nuit du dimanche, avec les DJs Malick et Steve Aries (alias Jester).
Toujours humble malgré un parcours qui pourrait déjà en faire rougir plus d’un, Francis affirme qu’il n’oubliera jamais les gens qui ont croisé sa route et à qui il doit beaucoup :
Stéfane Lippé, son gérant Gaëtan Vaudry, Mario Bross, Eddy Jasmin, David Gaubiac, Alain Jackinsky, Peter Sergakis et Chantal Ringuette. Sans oublier Jeff et Scott de chez Kostar / GS Audio (où pendant trois ans, il a eu la chance de faire des montages corporatifs, dans les endroits les plus branchés de la ville), de même que ses mentors à la console d'éclairage, Richard Mélé, Stéfane Alain et Dominique Morissette

It took Francis Guy (alias DJ Francis G) to win the Deejay Contest of Circus Afterhours during the winter of 2007, for his name, after a decade of real musical passion, to shine everywhere in the great metropolis. It is important to mention that he was first selected from the 283 participants, getting his name nine weeks later on the first price of the contest, against the seventeen other finalists. However, Francis knows better than anyone else that he’ll need to work twice as hard to prove he fully deserves this reward and to find his spot in the wonderful world of Quebec’s nightlife.
He’ll get his first chance in the metropolis at Cabaret Mado. Since, the complicity with his colleague Lady McCoy – with whom he shares every second Happy hour Fridays – is not to be compared. Same thing happens for Complex Sky, where he accumulates an outfit of responsibilities. About three years later, he has for luggage numerous noticed sets at the Club, at the Pub and even at the Cabaret of the complex, among which two memorable performances taking place during the major events of the end of year.
Ready to establish his own enterprise on June 8 2009 (Francis G Inc.), he will put to work all of his experiences and knowledge in this domain (in charge of the five rooms of the complex, programming of the consoles, repair of electronic equipment) by working as chief technician of the legendary complex of the east saint-Catherine Street.
During the summer of 2009, club Unity Montreal will make him a proposition to sign the lighting of the famous weekends, an offer that Francis couldn’t refuse. As DJ, he will also have the opportunity to open on Saturday nights for some important guests, of whom Brett Henricksen (Masterbeat), Jeremy Khamkeo (Tor), Dave + Gerardo (NYC), Seth Cooper (Texas) and Danny Torrence.
It didn’t take much for Red Lite Afterhours in Laval to notice him and offer him to be in charge of the lighting of the famous Sunday night, with the DJ Malick and Steve Aries (alias Jester).
Still very humble despite a path that would have some to be jealous, Francis states that he will never forget the people who crossed his road and to whom he owes much.
