DJ/Producer Freddy Valerio started spinning industrial and new wave in the early 90's. Transformed by his exposure to early 90's house, Freddy started spinning house music
In 1993, Freddy began to experiment with spinning by going to his longtime childhood friend Eric's house. He had the equipment and he started to teach Freddy how to mix records. Eric had mostly hip-hop records, but Freddy did not care. He just wanted to get his hands on the twelve hundreds and pursue his newly found passion. As Freddy continued to practice at Eric's house and at another friend Emir's house, he got his mixing skills up to par.
In 1995 Freddy purchased his own equipment. He would not have to depend on anybody else's turntables but his own. He made tapes for the guys on the block. They loved his beats and kept asking him for more mix tapes. One of the guys on the block stands out more than the others --JJ. JJ had money and hung out on the block. He loved Freddy and his music so much that when Freddy was jobless and had no money to buy records, JJ would give Freddy 100 to 200 dollars every month just so Freddy could buy records. In return all JJ wanted back was tapes so he could listen to them in his car. So he always had the freshest and latest Freddy Valerio mixes. Freddy always gives him thanks for helping him through those tough times and for helping to keep Freddy's dream alive.
Later that year Freddy started doing house parties in Washington Heights. Everybody in the hood took notice -- he became a household name and a staple in the uptown house music scene. Eddie Lopez asked Freddy to spin for the Secret Garden outdoor, outlaw parties held under the George Washington Bridge during the summer months. These party's included top local talent from the Heights such as, DJ Meticulous, Julian Taveras, DJ Nel, DJ Syl, and Sensi Massive. House music under the stars -- what more could any one ask for.
By1998 Freddy started spinning in Downtown NYC clubs. Dan Q, longtime friend and influence, asked Freddy if he would like to open for him at Tunnel's Friday night Aura party. At this year long residency, Freddy would bring his MPC 2000 and play it live over the beats while Dan Q was spinning. Freddy would also take over if Dan Q was out of town.
Freddy played in various clubs around the city, eventually landing a weekly residency at the Tubby Hook Cafe with DJ Meticulous, spanning two consecutive summers in 2000 and 2001 for a party called Tripulante, promoted by Fermin Fernandez and Ernies. That same year, Freddy landed a gig in the Dominican Republic. They loved Freddy's music so much he was asked to return to play down there 3 times in one year. They could not get enough of him. The experience of playing in all these different places helped Freddy to develop the confidence and stamina to get the job done of entertaining, creating, and playing for crowds from all over.
For the past couple of years Freddy has been teaming up with DJ/ Producer Lunic. They have been doing a party called Babylon's Kiss, which is known for its underground vibe and great tribalistic darkness. Every year they do a New Years after hours party, which have become legendary.
Through out the years Freddy Valerio has had his eye on producing music as well. With his project studio built and ready to go, Freddy has produced a good number of tracks. Freddy's releases include: "We Beg Your Pardon America E.P," "Soul of Being" on Sifted Recordings, by Lunic Y Valerio. "Levantando" on Soul Sauce Records by Freddy Valerio and Jimbrawnskii; and Soul of Being, on One Step Beyond Records. Freddy also has an unreleased EP with Oscar Cinema and Lunic called "The Rude Awakening EP," which was charted ..1 by DJ Merritt, and played by DJ Vibe. Danny Tenaglia has said on dtourism that he is feeling the beats and enjoys the work.
In the future Freddy is planning to start his own label which will be dedicated to showcasing talent that is great and never gets to be heard because no one will take that chance with them. Freddy wants to be the one to take the chance with them.
As of now Freddy is producing music as much as he can and continues to get his name out there. When it comes to house music Freddy Valerio goes all out. Just like the pulse of his hearts steady beat house music beats continuously through him.

Freddy i am truly truly sorry for not having made it to ur party. i know it was an important one for u and u needed all the love & support u so deserve, but my reasons & excuses r unfortunately insane!!! i will call u this week to tell u...and i know exactly what ur gonna say "no fucking way!!! really??...u know freddy Woman can make u do crazy stuff sometimes... kisses from ur friend and fan forever ever, lol!
