DJ FRESCA

Bio:

Born and raised in Soweto, Mondli Mashini who goes by the name of DJ Fresca began school at St. Matthews Primary in Soweto which is where he realised his passion for music while he was in grade 5. He began his DJ career in 1994 when he was in St. Matthews High School He is now co-running Social Underground Records also working as a producer and dj for the company, he played alongside the SA’s top DJ’s with the likes Oskido, Vinny, Christos , Monde ,Mbuso, Glen Lewis and international DJ’s the like of Paul Johnson and DJ Skip,Jayson (Seasonal Recording), Heather (Black Legends), Ame and Hendrik Schwarz. Mondli aka DJ Fresca has been a DJ for the past 10 years now and what inspired him to be a DJ it was his love and the passion for music and the fact that he used to listen to his father playing his old jazz vinyls and that influence his career decision. For some reasons music will never die in him because of the above mentioned inspirations of the top DJ's and influence from his father. He played in various clubs across the country for instance Rock n Roll, Arena,Vogue and Mo Funk, Electric workshop, Zambezi, Sky bar in Durban and the list is endless. He found his home at Soul Candi Music and is currently a DJ lecturer at the Soul Candi Institute of Music. This is as passionate for him as being a DJ and to share his love and knowledge with the up and coming DJs and, producers. He is slowly but surely creating a name for himself in the music industry from he's well known song Into Engekhoyo, by DJ Fresca & Kudoskelem featuring Lelethu that was released in 2008. The track got licensed to two compilations DJ Fistaz Mixwell Compilation and House Flava's Fosho which is a SABC I compilation. Both of this compilation sold more than gold with Into Engekhoyo by DJ Fresca & Kudoskelem featuring Lelethu which is the main track on both of this compilations. DJ Fresca is currently producing his first album due to be released sometime in 2009 titled Urban Tone “The Basement Experience”
