Bio
Rene Reyes aka GENR8 is a man of many guises. He has been an integral part in several production power houses throughout the years and today continues to push the boundaries of electronic music production. Rene started out djing in Miami for several years before taking aim at producing, and has been passionate about primarily drum & bass production since. Back in 2004, Rene started production duo Alliance alongside pop music producer The Illfactor. The same year, they won a remix competition put together by Intercom Records for which they released their first single "Jive". Alliance went on to release several dance floor smashers on labels such as Incite, Nemesis and Cymbalism. The year 2005 was a big one for GENR8 and his Alliance project. Alliance was picked up by Dieselboy’s Human imprint for a ground-tearing dnb remix of dance icon BT’s “The Great Escape". The remix was later included on a compilation titled, “The Human Resource,” which debuted at 14 on Billboard's Electronic Album chart. Around the same time, Rene caught the attention of Vegas and Maldini from legendary dnb group Bad Company. They quickly picked him up for the first two compilation releases on the now well established, Bad Taste Records. Based in Miami at the time, Rene was invited by four-time world champion turntablist DJ Craze to collaborate on some tunes for his new dnb label, Cartel Inc. Out of those sessions he released two songs alongside Infiltrata (12th Planet) and Craze himself. In 2007, GENR8 teamed up with South Africa’s darkchilds Counterstrike for a melodic, but deadly track that caught the attention of famed US glitch'n'bass mob, Evol Intent. The tune was released later that year on their on imprint, Evol Intent Recs. GENR8 was also highly influential in the success of another production project known as The Chosen. Under The Chosen, he has had releases with reputable labels such as Habit, Nemesis and recently Ohm Resistance. As Rene pursued his passion for the music, he also managed to swiftly incorporate his skills in the professional sound engineering world. With a touch of luck and plenty of determination, he landed a full-time engineering gig doing audio post for a busy studio in Miami parallel to his underground movement. Eventually he decided to get out of the hectic world of mainstream audio production, and took up an opportunity to teach what he loved most to hungry minds at the prestigious Fullsail University in Orlando, FL. In 2008, he made the big move cross country to Los Angeles for an opportunity to teach at the Los Angeles Recording School where he currently runs the school's electronic production clinics along with instructing in various audio engineering courses. The past two years have found GENR8 in a state of constant transition and internal growth as he has decided to focus on developing his solo sound. In '08, he linked up with Gridlok and landed a tune on his prestigious Project 51 imprint on a compilation with US dnb godfather AK1200 titled “Autopsy” which was nominated for a Grammy award later that year. In '09, he was approached by AK to remix legendary underground rock band Prong’s "Pure Ether" for a compilation titled “Power of the Damned mixxxer” released earlier this year. Rene has a full schedule between working in the studio, teaching audio production and now developing a website where he plans to showcase his musical endeavors through audio and visual means. video tutorials and "in session" clips will be posted with insights Into his now ten year strong music production/engineering career, of course with a strong emphasis on dnb, but not limited to. He is also working an exiting new approach to educating the masses through a series of clinic/production sessions where aspiring producers and engineers can witness the production process in real time while having the ability to address individual interests. GENR8's currently upcoming releases Include two tracks for Skynet’s Nvision imprint to be released on 12" as well as in a digital compilation titled “Edge of Expansion” due out this winter. Also to be released soon, two 12”s on AK1200’s Big Riddims label. On the pipeline, several colabs with philly's Koldfront trio (a.k.a Jae Kennedy, Karl K, and Kaos) to be released on their upcoming Saints & Sinners label next year. Expanding his dance music horizon into dubstep, Genr8 has a 12” coming out on Basshead’s sister label, Blacksheep Beats, and a track on Sub Pressure Records' next digital compilation due out in the next month. Genr8 sites making music and djing as his main mediums of artistic release, and a craft he has honed over years in the studio and djing for fans across coasts. He sites a broad range of influences including orchestral (drum corp), hip hop, funk, freestyle Miami bass, heavy metal, alternative rock, fusion & acid jazz, new age and of-course plenty of techno, hardcore, and house. Currently focusing on his solo career, Genr8 is excited for future projects and continues to work with drum & bass, dubstep, and house, to reach bold new musical scapes while keeping the bass bins bumpen. To him, these three genres “lend themselves perfectly to a diverse and balanced combination.” .. .. .. ............MySpace Layouts..............MySpace Layouts............MySpace Codes............MySpace Backgrounds.......... -

Influences
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it's a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy...................................................................................................................................................................DESIDERATA.......................BLESS -

Drum and Bass at its best! Hell Yeah!
Ultragore Recordings is back with its third hard-hitting release, a collaboration between
Sluggo and Bare. Label boss Sluggo takes a trip across the desert to the surf and sand of sunny
California where Los Angeles’ Bare has been making major noise on the domestic dubstep
scene. With tunes recently landing in the sets of Dieselboy, Excision, Datsik and Trillbass and
with upcoming releases on Sub Human and Hollow Point, Bare’s been making an indelible mark
on US dubstep as of late.
On Shy Guy, Sluggo and Bare drop a chugging beast of a tune a in their first collabo together. A
pitched down pan flute warms things up to the drop where a heavy digital squelch evolves along
a bubbling bass line throughout. An aggressive top end and subdued bass create a versatile tune,
working as a bridge point between power cuts on the for the big room jock or something to pick
up the energy for your deeper minded DJ.
B-side has Bare going solo with Mmm Mmmm. This low-end burner has dances with elements of
skweee and hip hop, as 8-bit bleeps and battle wax sample stabs ride a tough mid-range grinder.
Everyone’s favorite beer spokesman stops in for a few minutes, signing off with exuberant
approval on Bare’s brand of dub.
Ps - If you don't want us sending you new dubstep Stormers... defriend plz.

It’s a family affair as Ultragore Recordings returns with its second single, a two-pack of collabos
between Sluggo and a couple other heavy hitters from the Ultragore family. After the success of
the all out rage-fest that was I Get Violent, Sluggo and company show a deeper, more melodic
side of Ultragore with Power Glove.
On the lead single, Sluggo teams up with UK vet Kirkus. After a string of strong releases with
Dirty Circus, Stupid Fly, Execu7ion, Bass Punch, and BroTown, Kirkus seems to have met his
match in Sluggo. While both still have a taste for murder bass and heavy whomp, Power Glove
has the two venturing into new territory with surprising results.
The single opens in a New Age music style, with airy, melodic synths going into the drop.
A long forgotten vocal snippet from a long forgotten 80’s commercial disguised as a feature
film leads the charge to the bass drop where each producer’s character shines through in turn.
A deep, spooky line is followed by Sluggo’s signature murder bass, which is followed by
Kirkus’ signature amen drum rolls—this track screams collaboration in a good way, taking two
elements and creating an alloy stronger than either of the bases alone. A chilled out mid-section
showcases a deeper side of both producers, re-creating the airy synth vibe from the intro through
the break and beyond.
In another collaboration tour de force, Sluggo and Kirkus team up with label boss Lank for
a chuggy stepper on We Kill Everything. Once again, Sluggo and Kirkus open up with some
airy synth notes, quickly deteriorating into some chopped up squelch going into the drop. A
deep, heavy bass line chugs along at a healthy clip, with some 8-bit highlights and heavy bass
injections along the way to keep things interesting. Despite its title, We Kill shows that the
monster inside of Ultragore isn’t all blood-thirst and terror—apparently there’s a brain inside the
beast.
Ps - If you don't want us sending you new dubstep
Blessed Be !
