Also influenced by Kate Bush, Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny, Townes van Zandt, early Rolling Stones, early Bob Dylan, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, Faure, Underworld, Radiohead, Marianne Faithfull, Depeche Mode, the Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Sarah Maclachlan, Devo, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, DJ Shadow and Eva Cassidy.....to name a few.....

The influences she brings to the songwriting process, create some different configurations of musical architecture.
Take for instance, the bass drum sound in i wouldn't stop . You just don't hear that type of sound in a typical singer/songwriter CD. Touches like these are needed in music. It's also refreshing to hear a piano-infused set of songs come out of her current geographical locus, Austin. Her vocal and piano technique, yikes, it's great to hear someone sing in great tune. My fave track is the remix of less is more at the end of the CD. This points to more great things she will be doing. Her pedigree in dance music, mixed with her expression as a singer/songwriter, or songer/singwriter, creates great musical interest. It's nice to hear new things."

"gfire is the vision of one woman (vocalist and keyboardist) with two talented belly dancers. The effect was hypnotic and dare I say taunting? gfire's sultry and deep vocals and the overall mood was reminiscent of the likes of PJ Harvey and Portishead. She dished out a rockin' anti-Valentine's song. This note-worthy act closed with a tripped-out cover of the late-great Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues.
