..WHAT'S NEW?..
Hip-Hop. When you hear that word, what's the first thing you think about? Is it your favorite Rapper? Do you think about a favorite song, or do you think about the essence of Hip-Hop Culture? Well if you're under the age of 35, the latter will most likely NOT be your answer.
Hip-Hop has come from meager beginnings, to the driving force of the entire music industry. Old heads like myself would answer that question with resounding passion, "Hip-Hop Culture!"
The culture is not really talked about these days, sans the VH1 specials like the Hip-Hop Honors, or the many websites dedicated to preserving that culture.
Well this series of mixes will focus on two integral elements of Hip-Hop; The DJ and the MC. You will hear the songs that DJ's Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Grand Wizard Theodore, and others used to play at Park Jams to get the crowd dancing. You will also hear the emergence of the MC, who 'rapped' over the breakbeats the DJ would create from extending a certain part of the record, (a precursor to looping samples).
Come back every Friday for a new mix.

Beauty In Motion.....that's the term I would use when seeing a beautiful woman sing her BOOTY OFF!! There is nothing sexier than seeing a woman on stage pouring her heart out. Releasing all the emotions trapped inside by hitting notes and octaves, aurally beating the demons out of her mind body and soul. The first time I heard Lyn Collins' Think, I was only about 15. From that point on I had to put aside my Sugar Hill and Enjoy! singles, and start digging in Pops Crates'.

AND I LOVE.....him, her, my child, my family, my spouse, my dog, my cat, my music......
It doesn't really matter what you love, as long as you don't love hate. It seems as though hatred, jealously, & envy are prevailing over love these days. When I open up the newspaper, or listen to news-radio, or watch the television news, the countless stories of murder and mayhem consumes me. I think about my own children, my wife and family and pray daily that nothing but positivity cross their path everyday.
This mix is all about Love. From the smooth sound of Tom Brock, to the pleading love of Michael Henderson..This mix has all the makings to be an instant classic, and the standard bearer for all slow jam mixes to follow.
