About me:
..
..
Going on his sixteenth year of Djing, Greg Anderson is still going strong as a vital part of the gay dance club environment. As the current resident DJ of Saturdays at G.Bar in Tampa, FL, he is truly in his element with the music he spins. He is becoming one of the most saut-after DJ’s in Central Florida since his short move to the area in the summer of 2004.
Before Djing professionally, Greg’s passion for music started at an early age of seven. He listened to everything from Pop/Rock, R&B, Rap, Country, Heavy Metal and New Age to name a few. The variety of music at an early age pushed him to broaden his choices of music even further as he grew older. In his late teens, Greg was into music so much that he even did some early Djing at local school events and house parties. His popularity grew during his high school years but stopped when he graduated to further a career in business management. His passion for music was still in the back part of his mind.
At the age of 21, he had come out of the closet and went to his first gay bar in his hometown of Frederick, Maryland. It was the only gay bar in the area without going an extra 30 miles to Washington DC. There he fell in love with dance music and the concept of Djing for
people live. He had a childhood dream of becoming a radio DJ, but a club DJ appealed to him more.
Six months later, his dream came true. He got his chance to DJ for a crowd in a club. It was the very same club that he went to in his local town entitled “Talons.” He had very little experience but the management didn’t seem to care. He had played there for over a year before he had his big break in Washington DC.
After his break at Badlands(now called Apex), he started getting recognition for his popular music choices and energy. Greg finally found out that music and Djing is his life. His Djing musical influences ranged from Junior Vasquez, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Razor N' Guido, Tony Moran, Rosabel and Darrin Freidman to house DJ’s such as Deep Dish, Armand Van Helden, David Morales, Erick Morillo and Danny Tenaglia. Throughout the next 10 years living in Maryland, he had numerous gigs in Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Some clubs were the legendary Tracks ,Badlands(now Apex), Cobalt, and Wet in Washington DC and The Hippo, Allegro and Trust in Baltimore, MD.
Greg Anderson mixes a combination of familiar vocal anthems along with newer music to keep his style fresh. His style is tribal-house driven beats with or without vocals. “I try to be cutting edge by pushing the newer music but also give the people what they want to hear
at the same time.” He makes people climax with the energy builds in the music, the familiar vocals and driving tribal synth beats. Sometimes you may hear something you have never heard before or haven’t heard in a long time. “It makes it more fun to mix up the music a bit but
still keep everyone jumping all night until the ugly lights come up in the morning.” He believes that the crowd dictates where he is going with his musical journey each night. “As a friend of mine, DJ Albert Lee once said, It’s like volleyball….you volley back and forth with music. You give them what they want and they will give it back to you.” “Ever since I heard that from him, I stayed true to his belief and has worked every time. Every night is different and so should your music choices throughout the night.”
Over the years, Greg has grown with experience and recognition with the DC Metro area club scene and now recently in Central Florida. His energy seems to grow stronger over the years and enjoys every moment when he gets in front of a crowd. “I love the way it feels when
people enjoy what I play for them.”
His goals include remixing, producing and getting on board with Billboard Magazine as a reporter. He aspires to
broaden his audience base with traveling for future events. Visit him at G.Bar in Ybor City, Tampa, FL 33605 every week on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays!

Ghostly Stories
&
"Reefer Madness"
from Ybor City
Tour of the Historic
Ybor City Italian Club Cemetery
Did you know that the 1940's classic film, "Reefer Madness" was based on a murder story from right here in Ybor City? Other known celebrity residents, a Bay area "God Father" was buried there. A long standing heritage of new immigrants starting over in America and a peaceful place to rest our ancestral souls. This is just one of the many interesting things you will learn as narrator Sammy Campisi takes us on a tour of The Historical Italian Club Cemetery in Ybor City. Another MC FILM produced documentary.
